Michael Bolton originally got his start performing in hard rock and heavy metal bands in the 1970s and the 1980s. He recorded his first music as the frontman for the band Blackjack. In the late 1980s, he switched up his style and has become better known for his pop-rock ballads.

Bolton has sold more than 75 million records and recorded eight top 10 albums. He’s also had two number-one singles on the Billboard charts. He’s won six American Music Awards, two Grammy Awards, and has done charitable work through The Michael Bolton Foundation. Later renamed The Michael Bolton Charities, his organization works to assist women and children who suffer from poverty and all forms of abuse.
