Parton And Clarkson To Team Up For A Duet
Per Variety, Parton and Clarkson will be recording a new version of Parton's "9 to 5" for a documentary called "Still Working 9 to 5."
"We could do a documentary just on the making of the duet," Gary Lane, a co-director and producer on the documentary, told Variety. "It almost feels like launching two projects in one."
According to the publication, the song will have a different feel from the original, leaning towards a less cheery sound than the old version.
"There was a lot of hope, I would say, in the song," co-director Camille Hardman explained to the outlet. "And this version is just a little bit melancholic."
The initial plan was to ask Parton to write a new song for the documentary. However, McAnally had a remix idea for Parton's "9 to 5." Months later, he created a demo that the singer-songwriter really liked. Clarkson and Parton recorded their parts in November and December and filmed themselves in the studio for a forthcoming music video.
According to Lane, the revised version will be slower than the original.
"Dolly actually called it '9 to 5: The Slow Version,'" Lane told Variety. "It's definitely slowed down and more haunting. Kelly – you can't believe how she changes it, too. It's really mind-blowing."
About The Documentary

The "9 to 5" documentary, on the other hand, focused on issues women faced in the workplace. However, it's not a "hardcore feminist movie" because it's targeted at a broad audience.
"It was a very difficult film to make," says Hardman, "because it was the women's movement in tandem with the fandom of '9 to 5' and all the different iterations and how they overlapped."
The documentary features interviews with Parton, Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Dabney Coleman, and other creatives from 2009 Broadway, like Megan Hilty and Allison Janney.
About eight existing Parton songs were licensed for the documentary, including several of her score for the Broadway musical and other feminist-leaning songs from her catalog, such as "Just Because I'm a Woman."
Has 'The Voice' Been Renewed For Another Season?
The 21st season of "The Voice" wrapped up on December 14, 2021, and fans are wondering if it'd be renewed for another season.
While NBC hasn't officially picked up the show, there's a high chance that it'll be renewed.
However, no coaches have been officially confirmed to return, and none will be guaranteed until renewal. Nonetheless, it's very likely that the four coaches: Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend, will return for season 22.
Shelton has spoken of his intention to leave in the past, but it's evident that he's still very much vested in the show.
