In an Instagram live with People on Wednesday, a band member, Nick Carter, expressed his enthusiasm about the Las Vegas tour.
"We are extremely excited to get back to work, to get back to entertaining people again," he began.
"We are so excited and proud of what we have and the way it's all coming together. We feel that this is one of our best creations yet and that this creation deserves the best possible scenario and set up for success."
He continued, "With the current state of the world still limiting our travel and causing small things in these processes to take much longer, we have decided to wait until 2022 to release our Christmas album and subsequently will be canceling our limited Las Vegas run of Christmas shows. While we are disappointed, we know this is for the best, and we absolutely cannot wait to share the magic of this album with all of you when the time is right!" Carter concluded.
The Tour Was Supposed To Hold Last Year

In July 2021, the Backstreet Boys announced their 12 nights at Planet Hollywood's Zappos Theater in Las Vegas with a Christmas-themed "A Very Backstreet Christmas Party" residency.
The show was set to feature "their biggest hits, classic holiday favorites and new originals."
"While the army's been nestled all snug in their beds, and visions of BSB danced through their heads… We've planned and we schemed such a glorious show…" the band posted on Instagram at the time. "It's time that we told you!"
They added, "We just want you to know… A VERY BACKSTREET CHRISTMAS PARTY: our Limited Las Vegas Engagement is coming this November and December!!!"
At the time of the announcement, Dorough spoke to USA Today of the tour." If ten years ago you had asked about playing Vegas, I would have been like, no, that's where people go to retire into the sunset and put an end to their careers. But Celine (Dion), Britney (Spears), JLo (Jennifer Lopez) – they all recreated the thought of what people perceive of Vegas."
"We really wanted to perform for our fans before the end of this year and felt it was a great opportunity. We have two Christmas songs in our history and thought we'd do 12 shows – a small sampling that could maybe happen annually." Another member of the band, Richard, chimed in.
"I think people coming out of this pandemic, we have all kind of had this dark time so everyone wants to get out and we just want to huddle together and socialize and party. And Vegas is one of the best places to do it," Carter added.
About The 'DNA' Album

The album is the ninth album by the boy band. The album was initially released in Japan on January 23, 2019, and everywhere else on January 25, 2019. The band produced this album through a collaboration with the band's record label, K-BAHN and RCA Records.
It featured tracks written by Stuart Crichton, Shawn Mendes, Lauv, Andy Grammer, Ryan Tedder, and Edei. The album is short for "Digital and Analog," which the band started recording with in the 1990's.
"DNA" is the group's second album, since 2007's "Unbreakable," without influence from longtime producers and friends Kristian Lundin and Max Martin.
The follow-up to their eighth studio album, "In a World Like This." About the album, Richardson said: "We were able to bring all of our influences and styles into one coherent piece of work. These songs are a great representation of who we are as individuals and who we are as a group. It's our DNA. We're really proud of that."
The Album Topped The Billboard Chart
Two decades after they initially topped the billboard chart, the Backstreet Boys have shown they still got it on with their album, "DNA."
After its debut, "DNA" topped the Billboard 200 all-genre charts, and it went on to sell 234,000 album units in America for the first week, as reported by Nielsen Music. Two hundred twenty-seven thousand of those units were pure album sales.
The album's lead single, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," had a Grammy nod for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance." This is the band's eighth career Grammy nomination.
