Selena Gomez Flaunts Longtime Friendship With The Weeknd's New Flame

Selena Gomez and Simi Khadra are buddies!

The singer, 29, took to Instagram and shared two snaps where she posed alongside the Khadra twins -- Simi and Haze, 28.

In the first photo, Selena was sandwiched between the sisters. All three were looking straight at the camera with the "Same Old Love" hitmaker raising her right hand and popping her hip to the side. The next slide showed a candid shot that featured Selena hugging Simi as Haze turned to face them.

Selena rocked a light gray tank top and dark gray pants, while Haze sported a printed white shirt, jeans, and a green leather jacket with brown accents. As for Simi, she wore a multi-colored bomber jacket and black pants.

In the caption, the former Disney star revealed that she has been friends with the siblings "Since 2013."

The pictures came after Simi was spotted kissing The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, in Vegas during his birthday weekend. As reported by TMZ, the pair were seen at Delilah, where the singer was celebrating his 32nd birthday.

Selena dated The Weeknd for nearly 10 months, from January to October 2017.

The "Wizards of Waverly" star's fans reacted to her new update. It accrued more than 4.2 million likes and 19,800 comments in less than 24 hours of being live on the social media site.

"The Weeknd entered the chat," one commented.

"Wait whattt isn’t she dating your ex," added a confused follower.

"We love a shady Queen," remarked the third user.

"Something is coming. THIS IS NOT NORMAL 100% this is a HINT," a fourth comment read.

The photos are pretty recent as Simi showed off the same outfit in her Instagram account.

Selena seemed fine with her ex dating her friend. Since parting ways, Selena has referred to The Weeknd as her "best friend."

She told Billboard they ended their romance on good terms in an interview published in November 2017.

"The best part [of being single]? It’s actually... you know what, though? Something that I’m really proud of is that there’s such a true friendship [between me and The Weeknd]," she said at the time. "I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life. We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me."

Romance rumors began when The Weeknd was spotted with Simi numerous times in LA, E! News reported.

However, a rep told the site that they are “not dating” and have "been friends for years."

Apart from Selena, Simi and her sister Haze are seemingly close with The Weeknd’s other ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid, 25, and has even posted several pics with the supermodel on their Instagram.

The musician had an on and off relationship with Bella from 2015 to 2019. She's currently dating art director Marc Kalman, 33, while The Weeknd was most recently linked to Angelina Jolie, 46.
