The Weeknd To Launch Immersive Music Special On Amazon Prime Video

Now, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, is set to present an immersive music special for his fans. The special is called "The Dawn FM Experience," and it will launch on Amazon's Prime Video on February 26th. Read on to find out more about the special and the album.

On February 26th, The Weeknd will present his immersive music special titled "The Dawn FM Experience" on Prime Video. According to Amazon's announcement, the music special will delve into the "Dawn FM" album and expand it "into a mesmerizing visual, creating a theatrical performance event that will envelope audiences in its unnerving and moody world."

The Weeknd also spoke about the special and said, "I'm ecstatic to partner with Amazon to premiere the most elaborate live TV special I've ever done. Welcome to the next phase of Dawn FM — a purgatory otherworld where live performance, theater, and performance art collide for a night out at the club."

"Dawn FM" is The Weeknd's fifth studio album, and it was released on January 7th, 2022. The songs in the album feature narrations by Jim Carrey and guest vocals from Lil Wayne and Tyler, the Creator. The album was produced by The Weeknd himself, Calvin Harris, Brian Kennedy, and several others.

Amazon has also announced that music from the "Dawn FM Experience" will be made available for The Weeknd fans to stream as an eight-track live EP. The EP will be exclusive to Amazon users on Amazon music.

An exclusive merch capsule celebrating the music special will also be available starting from 12 p.m PT/3 p.m ET on February 25th. The capsule will be available in the Amazon music app and the Amazon Artist Merch Shop for fans to purchase.

The limited-edition merch collection was created to commemorate the musical event and will only be available to U.S fans and customers at The Weeknd's Amazon website dedicated page.

The "Dawn FM Experience" was created primarily by The Weeknd himself with the help of La Mar C. Taylor, who was also an executive producer, and Micah Bickham, who directed the special. XO Records and Contrast Films produced the musical special, and the other executive producers were Jordy Wax and Ed Walker.

The Weeknd's "Dawn FM Experience" on Amazon's Prime Video follows his appearance in 103.5 Dawn FM, which was a live stream experience that fans streamed exclusively in the Amazon Music app and on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
