Even Prince Charles is paying tribute to the late Jamal Edwards.
According to a statement made by his mother earlier today, Edwards passed away of a “sudden illness” on Sunday. The SBTV founder was beloved by many and helped launch the careers of several artists, including “Bad Habits” singer Ed Sheeran and “Bang Bang” singer Jessie J.
Edwards had also done work with the Prince’s Trust, prompting the organization and Prince Charles himself to express their condolences.

On Monday, the Prince’s Trust tweeted, “An incredible innovator and entrepreneur, Jamal Edwards MBE has been an inspiration for so many young people, through our work and beyond. Our thoughts are with his family.”

The heir to the throne, now 73, also released a statement through the Clarence House.
“Thinking of the family of Jamal Edwards today,” the tweet read. “His work in music but also as an ambassador for a new generation, including his work for The Prince’s Trust, were an inspiration to so many.”

Edwards’ mother sent a statement to Loose Women to confirm that her son had passed on.
“It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness,” she wrote. “Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world.”
“As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss,” she continued. “I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.”
She concluded, “Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD.”

Many fans also expressed their condolences for the grieving mother.
“Why are the best ones taken so early?” one fan asked. “London has lost a legend. There’s going to be some fantastic music in heaven. Sleep well Jamal. Big love to Brenda, family and friends.”
“Bless all of you. I am sorry for the deep painful sorrow you are suffering now but this man’s soul is now untethered so he can continue spreading his good freely,” another wrote. “God has plans for him.”
“I’m so sorry. My son died suddenly aged 24 , it will be 4 years ago on Wednesday,” another shared. “I found him . My heart is breaking for you Brenda , I’m so sorry about the pain you are feeling . I would take the pain away for you if I could.”
