Legendary actor Chevy Chase is responding to rumors Pete Davidson floated about him being a "genuinely bad" and "racist" person.
The 'National Lampoon's Vacation' star addressed the ongoing feud during an interview with CBS's 'This Morning' where he was asked about other comedians like Davidson calling him out for being a bad person.
"When you read that stuff -- 'Chevy's been a jerk' are those unfounded cheap shots?' Jim Axelrod asked.
Chevy responded, "I guess you'd have to ask them," while laughing and adding, "I don't give a crap!"
Chevy Chase: I Am Who I Am, I Don't Care What Anyone Thinks!
"I am who I am, and I like... who I am. I don't care," Chevy continued, "And it's part of me that I don't care. And I've thought about that a lot. And I don't know what to tell you, man. I just don't care."
The reaction comes after Pete Davidson trashed the legendary comedian on 'The Howard Stern Show,'claiming he was a terrible guy who made racist comments.
Back in 2018, Davidson went off of Chase, saying, "F--- Chevy Chase." Adding, "He's just a genuinely bad, racist person and I don't like him." During the interview, Davidson defended his boss, Lorne Michaels after Chevy made a few negative statements about the current staff of 'Saturday Night Live.'
"It's disrespectful to Lorne, too, a guy who gave you a career, no matter how big you get, you can't forget what that guy did for you," Pete continued.

Of course, Pere was reacting to a Washington Post interview done by Chevy Chase, where he blasted the long-running comedy sketch show for being lower quality than the past.
"I'm amazed that Lorne has gone so low, I had to watch a little of it, and I just couldn't f---ing believe it," Chevy said.
He continued, "That means a whole generation of s---heads laughs at the worst f---ing humor in the world. Do you know what I mean? How could you dare give that generation worse s--- than they already have in their lives? It just drives me nuts."
Chevy Chase Accused Of Dropping Racist Word During On-Set Argument
Pete Davidson isn't the first actor to make racist accusations against Chevy Chase -- although the two never shared a state. In March of 2018, Donald Gloveraccused the comedian of something similar saying that Chase would, "disrupt his scenes" and made insensitive jokes between takes while the two starred on 'Community' together.
At the time, Chevy responded, "I am saddened to hear that Donald perceived me in that light."
Unfortunately, Chase was accused of dropping the N-word during an outburst on the same set, while complaining about the direction of his character. According to reports, Chevy was upset his character in the show was growing "increasingly bigoted" and while frustrated over the situation yelled out "What's next? Am I gonna say the word ni--er?"

Following the outburst, Chase apologized to the cast and crew and attempted to explain how it was directed at anyone -- especially the show's African-American cast members, Donald Glover, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
At this point, Pete might have bigger fish to fry with the Kanye West situation.
