Actresses Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes will all team up to host the 94th Academy Awards, held live on Sunday, March 27, 2022. This will be the first time that any of them have hosted the star-studded awards ceremony, which will be broadcast live on ABC at 8 PM ET.

This Year’s Academy Awards Ceremony ‘Is All About Uniting Movie Lovers’

In a press release, producer Will Packer announced that the focus on this year’s show will be on uniting movie lovers.
“This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers,” Packer said. “It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles.”
“I know the fun Regina, Amy and Wanda will be having will translate to our audience as well,” he added. “Many surprises in store! Expect the unexpected!”
“We want people to get ready to have a good time,” Hall, Schumer, and Sykes said in a joint statement. “It’s been a while.”
Academy Award President David Rubin and Academy CEO Dawn Hudson added, “We’re invigorated by Will’s vision for this year’s Oscars: celebrating movie lovers alongside moviemakers and spotlighting fan favorites that prove how cinema can unite us all. Hosting this star-studded party are three powerful, funny women inviting us to laugh and cheer for the year’s best and brightest in film.”

Who Are Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, And Wanda Sykes?
Amy Schumer, 40, is a New York-born stand-up and comedian and actress. After getting her start in season 5 of the NBC reality competition series “Last Comic Standing” in 2007, she has gone on to appear in films like “Trainwreck” in 2015, “Snatched” in 2017, and “I Feel Pretty” in 2018. She also had her own show called “Inside Amy Schumer” from 2013 to 2016. She is also the writer, director, executive producer, and star of the upcoming comedy series “Life and Beth.”
Regina Hall, 51, is an actress that hails from Washington, D.C. She became a household name for her role as Brenda Meeks in the parody “Scary Movie” film series from 2000 to 2006. She has appeared in many films since then, including 2014’s “About Last Night,” 2015’s “Vacation,” 2017’s “Girls Trip,” 2018’s “The Hate You Give” and 2019’s “Little.” She earned critical acclaim for her role in 2018’s “Support the Girls” and became the first Black woman to win the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress.
Wanda Sykes, 57, is an actress, stand-up comedian, and writer from Portsmouth, Virginia. After getting her start as a writer on “The Chris Rock Show,” she won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1999. In 2004, Entertainment Weekly dubbed her one of the top 25 funniest people in America. She is known for appearing in several popular TV series, including CBS’ “The New Adventures of Old Christine” from 2006 to 2010, HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” from 2001 to the present, and ABC’s “Black-ish” from 2015 to the present. She also stars in the Netflix original series “The Upshaws,” which premiered in May 2021.

In a new Good Morning America promo, Schumer says “I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea but I am hosting the Oscars, along with my good friend Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. I better go watch some movies.”
Lara Spencer noted that the 94th Academy Awards will be the first time in 35 years since three hosts took the stage. The last trio of hosts was Paul Hogan, Chevy Chase, and Goldie Hawn.
