Megan Thee Stallion: An Internet Sensation Gone International!
Megan’s career first took off thanks to the power of her fans on social media. After her freestyle rapping videos became popular on Instagram, she signed to 300 Entertainment in 2018. In 2019, she released the mixtape “Fever” and followed it up with the extended play “Suga” in 2020. Both peaked in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart.
That same year, she released her debut studio album “Good News” which appeared on several bestselling album lists. She topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart with the remix of her song “Savage” featuring Beyoncé and received acclaim for her feature on Cardi B’s “WAP.”
The following year, she starred with Doja Cat on the single “34 + 35 Remix” by Ariana Grande. Later in 2021, Megan released the compilation album “Something for Thee Hotties,” which reached number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. She earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Performance for her song “Thot S---.”
Megan has already won six BET Awards, five BET Hip Hop Awards, four American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, a Billboard Women in Music Award, and three Grammy Awards - and she's only 27! She became the second female rapper to win a Grammy for Best New Artist after Lauryn Hill in 1999.
In 2020, TIME named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Despite her success in the entertainment industry, Megan takes her education seriously: she graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration in 2021.
