Kim Kardashian Recalls Vogue Journey With Makeup Artist Mario Dedivanovic

Kim Kardashian paid tribute to her makeup artist, as she remembers her recent Vogue cover shoot.

The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star, 41, shared her favorite photo from the photoshoot and recalled a memory where Mario Dedivanovic, 38, was warned by his former agent not to work with her.

The reality star uploaded a picture that showed her bare shoulders and side profile, wearing a pair of gold Schiaparelli Haute Couture earrings. Kardashian had her black hair styled in braids and tied in a sleek bun done by her hairstylist Chris Appleton.

Her makeup look featured a dramatic black eyeliner, defined brows, light eyeshadow, and a hint of blush, which was created by her longtime makeup artist.

"I love this pic from my @voguemagazine cover shoot but what I love most is that I was able to use @makeupbymario and @chrisappleton1 to glam me," Kardashian began.

"When Mario first started working with me his agent told him not to work w me anymore and working with a reality star would never ever land him a US Vogue Cover," the beauty mogul recalled. "He said he would choose me over the cover and fired his agent."

Kardashian concluded her post, writing, "It might have taken us over a decade but I couldn’t be more proud of my glam team who always shows up for me. I love you guys!"

After five hours, the share earned more than 757,000 likes and almost 4,000 comments.

Dedivanovic has been working and collaborating with Kardashian since 2008, but the journey wasn't easy. The celebrity makeup artist also shared the story, where he was once pressured to cut ties with the SKIMS founder.

"The elitist world, they looked down upon people like reality stars," he said on "E! True Hollywood Story." “I had an agent that demanded that I stop working with her."

Dedivanovic went on to explain that his former agent viewed his association with Kardashian as career suicide.

"They said that, 'She'll never be successful. And you're going to go down right with her and you're gonna lose your entire career,'" he continued. "I knew in my heart that that wasn't true."

Dedivanovic's decision of firing his agent paid off as his success skyrocketed just as Kardashian's did. Apart from being a renowned makeup artist, he has also collaborated with Kardashian on her KKW Beauty collections.

Dedivanovic also travels the world for his beauty seminars, "The Masterclass," where he shares his makeup expertise with high-paying audience members.

After working together for over a decade, Kardashian and Dedivanovic's relationship goes far beyond business, and the pair eventually became close friends. During the celebration for their KKW collaboration in 2018, Kardashian tearfully thanked the makeup artist for all that he's taught her over the years.

"So I’m so grateful for you Mario, I’m not gonna cry so I don’t want to talk, but literally you’ve taught me everything," she said in a clip shared on Dedivanovic's Instagram account.
