Barstool Sportsfounder Dave Portnoy is opening up about his defamation lawsuit against Business Insider, claiming it's NOT about money and just wants those responsible to be forced to "look him in the eyes."

The Barstool honcho was spotted leaving Los Angeles hotspot  'Saddle Ranch' this week, after arriving on the West Coast for the Superbowl. Photographers caught up with Portnoy and asked about the ongoing legal fight with Business Insider. The camera person -- Adam Glyn -- also discussed a variety of topics with him, including Joe Rogan, Bitcoin, and his current relationship.

In true Portnoy style, he began firing right off the bat at BI saying, "They are scumbags and they have been lying about me for almost a year straight. I want them to have to answer me...they don’t respond to my emails...requests to talk to them, so getting them in a courtroom is the very least.

He continued, "I want them to look me in the eye, that’s all I want, I want the day is when they have to sit across from me and lie to my face and see what they do."

Of course, the photographer asked what he is hoping to gain by filing a lawsuit against the publication -- and he claims it's not about the money.

"It’s not money at all, this is about my name...it's about my honor, pride, integrity, and I know they are lying."

The position is similar to what Portnoy said on the day he filed the legal case, writing in a blog post, "There will be no settling. No amount they can pay me to get them off their backs. I won’t rest till I put these people out of business. A guy who is willing to burn to make sure his enemies burn with him."

As we've reported, Portnoy is being accused of sexual misconduct and filming women during those encounters without their permission. In one case, Business Insider claims a woman says she broke a rib during an aggressive encounter with the Barstool Honcho. Dave denied the accusations, saying the truth will come out during the legal case.

During the conversation, Dave gives his opinion on the Joe Rogan controversy -- claiming he doesn't believe the popular Podcast host's "motivations are pure."

"I don’t condone anything he said or did.  It happened a while ago, I don’t know if the motivations are pure.  It feels politically motivated.  The people are speaking about him generally have an agenda," he says into the camera.

The impromptu interview takes an interesting turn while Dave describes part of his success being because he is an "open book" about his life.
