Ben Affleck Fans Aren't Pleased
Affleck is contending for two categories for Worst Actor and Worst Supporting Actor for his role as Pierre d'Alençon in the 2021 movie "The Last Duel."
The historical drama tells the story of the last official judicial duel in France, between knight Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon) and his former friend, Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver), after the former's wife, Marguerite (Jodie Comer), accuses Gris of rape.
Aside from starring as the villainous Count, Affleck co-wrote the script. "The Last Duel" had an IMDb rating of 7.4 out of 10 and an 85% Tomatometer rating.
Ben Affleck gave one of his best performances in The Last Duel. For the Razzies to disrespect him in this way is beyond the pale.

Critics highly praised the film, but it, unfortunately, bombed at the Box Office, earning only $30.6 million against a production budget of $100 million.
Nevertheless, the film had an overall positive reception, with Affleck's performance garnering praises. Hence it came as a shock when he was nominated for a Razzie.
Fans of the actor, who is a proud winner of two Academy Awards and three Golden Globes, have taken to social media streets to protest the nomination.
Film critic Courtney Howard wrote, "Ben Affleck's name shouldn't be anywhere near that Razzies list. His performance as obnoxious, narcissistic, philandering royalty is on another level in THE LAST DUEL. He makes a meal out of his screen time and also has one of the best deliveries of a line in that movie."
Another critic stated, "BenAffleck gave one of his best performances in The Last Duel. For the Razzies to disrespect him in this way is beyond the pale."
I demand justice for that Ben Affleck Razzie nom because WHAT. He is not deserving of that at all

An agreed fan wrote, "BenAffleck was great in THE LAST DUEL. His Razzie nom says more about the Razzies than his performance."
Another user wondered, "Why am I seeing tweets about Ben Affleck getting nominated for a razzie for The Last Duel? He was great in that movie wtf."
This fan asked for "justice" on behalf of the actor for getting a Razzie nom. "I demand justice for that Ben Affleck Razzie nom because WHAT. He is not deserving of that at all," the user demanded.
