They started dating a few years after their initial meeting and finally said their wedding vows in a private ceremony. There were reports in 2019 that the two had wed, but neither addressed the rumors.

“Split” was filmed in Liberati’s hometown in Philadelphia. When asked if he now saw himself as part of the city, McAvoy told The Guardian that the city “is like a second home for me.”

The “Wanted” star refused to give more insight into the secret marriage because he was afraid of “creating tabloid fodder.” McAvoy is currently promoting a play called “Cyrano de Bergerac” in London.

McAvoy Said Things Changed After The Divorce

McAvoy is known for keeping a low profile, whether married or not. However, in 2020, the actor opened up about his life post-divorce in an interview with Mr. Porter. He revealed that his life “changed massively after the divorce,” but many things still remained the same.

He said, “One of the things that stayed the same is that I still don’t talk about my personal life, really. Me and Anne-Marie, when we were together, it was our policy not to speak about each other in public. We rarely broke that, and if we did, it was for tiny things….”

“Even separated, we’re still respectful of each other and committed to doing that publicly and personally,” McAvoy added. He said that overall, things were still really good; however, he jokingly conceded the comment, referring to it as a “rubbish, pat answer.”

McAvoy also revealed that he cut back on his alcohol intake, particularly whiskey, because he didn’t appreciate how it made him feel after imbibing it. “I find that I can’t drink too much whiskey anymore,” he explained. “I get a bit leery, a wee bit fighty, a bit chippy, looking for an argument. And I didn’t like that. So I stopped drinking it.”

McAvoy Will Reprise His Role As Cyrano De Bergerac

The “X-men” Star is set to star in a show about a long-nosed lovestruck poet called Cyrano de Bergerac. He first played the role as far back as 2019. In the interview with The Guardian, McAvoy talked about when he previously played the role and how it felt reprising it.

He said, “Partly, it makes you feel like two years haven’t happened. Most of the lines were still just there in my head, without me having to worry, which has never happened before.”

“I once sat with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, and both of them had a ‘Macbeth-off’ where they started speaking Macbeth to each other. I had just finished doing Macbeth, and I swear I could not remember a syllable, man. It was awful,” the actor added.

The show’s director, Jamie Lloyd, practiced somewhat different directing methods. In the original run, he revealed that he disapproved of the idea of “characters” and expected his cast to bring themselves into their parts.
