John Stamos is slowly coming to terms with the sudden passing of his best friend, Bob Saget.

The “Full House” star and many other famous names held a “farewell concert” over the weekend to commemorate Saget at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, CA.

The former “America’s Funniest Home Videos” host died suddenly on January 9 in his Florida hotel room.

He had just started a new comedy tour and performed his second show hours before passing away in his sleep.

Saget died at just 65 years old.

In a statement shared with People, Stamos wrote, "After shedding tears and sharing sincere remembrances of their family member, friend, philanthropist and funnyman Bob Saget at his funeral two weeks ago, it was time for those who loved him most to give him the sendoff he would have truly loved."

The concert was put on by Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, and two of his three daughters.

"Since Bob left this world mid-joke on a comedy tour, it only felt right to honor his memory in a place where the lights are low, the drinks flow freely, and the gut-punch of pain is overcome with belly laughs of love," Stamos said of the special space.

Saget has a very special connection to The Comedy Store. He launched his career as a comedian at the iconic venue over 40 years ago.

Last month, Saget’s widow opened up to Hoda Kotb on “TODAY” about her last interaction with the comedian.

Rizzo said that there’s “a little bit more sense of calm” in the wake of his death and funeral.

“I think you get to a point where your body will just physically not let you cry anymore, or at least all day,” Rizzo said in regard to slowly starting to come to terms with the late actor’s death.

“So I think I’m possibly getting there, or I’m just numb,” she explained. “I can’t tell what it is right now. Everything is a memory, everything reminds me of him. So, that’s been difficult but also wonderful at the same time.”

Rizzo said their last interaction via text was “nothing but love.”

Kelly Rizzo Says There Was Nothing But Love With Saget

Since his passing, his close friends and colleagues have had nothing but kind and loving words about Saget.

One day after his death, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel told his audience, “Bob was the sweetest. He was the sweetest man. I have so many wonderfully kind and supportive texts and emails and calls from Bob. He always had a compliment.”

Hoda noted that Saget seemed like an “I love you guy,” which Rizzo agreed with wholeheartedly

"He put it all out there. Anyone he met and even spent any time with at all, he told them he loved them endlessly and tirelessly. And that was his entire message,” Rizzo explained. “If you knew Bob, and he loved you, you knew it. There was never, ever a doubt in your mind.”

Saget’s widow joked that’s probably why he was always on his phone, he was sending love to everyone in his contact list.

Speaking of love, it is the outpouring of love from his friends and fans on social media that has been the “silver lining” for Rizzo through this tragic time.

“I don’t know how else I’d be getting through this right now,” she noted.

The conversation then shifted to Rizzo and Saget’s last interaction with one another.

“I think I said, ‘I love you dearly,’ and he said, ‘I love you endlessly,’” she recalled. “I said, ‘I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.’ And then, you know, it was just all very — it was just all love.”

Rizzo added that her late husband told her at least 500 times a day that he loved her.

Saget was laid to rest in a private funeral ceremony on January 14. His “Full House” family was in attendance.

During Rizzo’s “TODAY” interview, she touched on her late husband’s powerful relationship with his friends, specifically Stamos, who was Saget’s best friend for 35 years.

“I know how important he was to them,” she said. “And so I’m just trying to make sure that they’re OK because, you know, he was my husband but I’m like… ‘I’ve only known him barely six years. You guys have known him for 20, 30, 40 years.’”

Saget and Rizzo tied the knot in 2018.
