Scooter Braun and his ex-wife, Yael Cohen, have agreed to keep details of their divorce settlement negotiations private including music business finances which might be considered 'trade secrets.'
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Scooter's lawyers filed a "discovery confidentiality stipulation and order" outlining aspects of the former couple's divorce and marriage they wished to keep private.
Specifically, the Braun's want to make sure "trade secrets, competitively sensitive technical, marketing, financial, sales, or other confidential business information," doesn't leak out of the divorce case into the public.
Scooter Braun Files To Keep His Divorce Settlement Negotiations Private
As you know, Justin Bieber's manager is a bigwig in the music business running an investment group called Ithaca Holdings, which was involved in the deal to purchase Taylor Swift's masters from Big Machine Label Group. The deal didn't go as planned, after Taylor went public about not being happy she didn't own her own masters. But, Braun sold the rights, at a reported huge profit. The deal reportedly was for $300 Million, with a resale of more than $400 Million.
The problem is that information like this deal can be a part of an ongoing divorce with his ex-wife, Yael Cohen. Details of Scooter's business dealings, earnings, and money acquired will be front and center in the ongoing negotiations for the divorce. It's unclear if the couple has a prenuptial agreement, but considering both parties were wealthy coming into the marriage, it's highly probable.

At the time, Cohen publically defended Braun against Taylor Swift after she called the purchase "incessant, manipulative bullying" behavior.
The stipulation is clear, even if either party accidentally releases confidential information from their marriage, it is NOT a green light to expose it all. "The inadvertent or unintentional disclosure of Confidential Material that should have been designated as such shall not be deemed to waive a party’s claim of confidentiality," the document reads.
It should be noted, this isn't a normal occurrence in a celebrity divorce case.

Scooter speaks highly of his ex-wife, revealing on a recent podcast, "I was having a lot of success and I was looking for what validated me. And then when I met her, I realized, between her and the kids, I don't need that validation anywhere anymore. I can just do good work and I can try and be kind to people. Other people's issues are not my issue. I can only control my own actions. But she kind of gave me that comfort that I'm enough."
