Drew Barrymore Reveals She Was In an "Open Relationship" With Luke Wilson

Once upon a time in Hollywood, Barrymore and Hudson were "wild and young" ladies who first met at a bar/restaurant called Chez Jay's.

At the time, the "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" actress was filming the 2003 movie "Alex & Emma" with Luke while her friend was dating him.

The "50 first dates" star confessed that her relationship with the "Idiocracy" actor wasn't what it appeared to be on the outside as the former couple wasn't an exclusive item. The 46-year-old said:

"I was dating him, but I think he was also dating other people. It was an open relationship, we were young."

Hudson laughed at this revelation before stating she had also experienced the same type of relationship with Luke's older brother, Owen Wilson.

However, Barrymore wasn't heartbroken over her open relationship with the "Old School" actor; rather, that period was filled with precious memories. The mother-of-two said:

"It's so funny because when you're young it's like, it's low stakes. We're just young, we're having fun, we're playing, acting, hanging out. You're not taking it all so seriously, and it was fun and we had the best time."

Aside from reminiscing about their younger years, the "Blended" actress showed her appreciation to Hudson for pulling off a remarkable impression of her on "Saturday Night Live."

In 2000, the Golden Globe winner impersonated Barrymore on the late-night show but credited her acting skills to the 46-year-old's unique physical feature.

According to the blonde actress, the "Charlie's Angels" star could easily be recognized by her crooked mouth and facial expressions.

In 2005, Jimmy Fallon echoed similar sentiments about the entertainer's unique facial expressions during their time together on "Fever Pitch."

The "Little Girl Lost" Author Has Nothing But Love For Her Blended Family

Last November, The Blast reported that the SAG award winner was getting along perfectly with her ex-husband Will Kopelman and his new wife, Alexandra Michler.

The "Poison Ivy" star and her former spouse were married from 2012 to 2016, and their union was blessed with two daughters, Olive and Frankie.

Despite the end of her romance with Kopelman, the blonde beauty had nothing but love for her ex-husband as she allowed their daughters to serve as flower girls during his wedding to Michler.

Barrymore's welcoming nature didn't stop there as she continued to spend quality time with her newfound blended family, especially on holidays like Halloween.

The 46-year-old went trick-or-treating with the couple for the spooky holiday and gushed about the peaceful family moment on her talk show.

"The Wedding Singer" star explained that exes would naturally spend time together when they shared children, which was why these former couples needed to make parenting their main priority.

The former CoverGirl model advised families in the same situation to take the high road and move forward with nothing but "love and good intentions."

The "Santa Clarita Diet" Star Comes From A Family Of Entertainers

Last December, The Blast took a look at Barrymore's family tree, which has deep roots in the entertainment industry, starting from the "Scream" actress's great-grandparents.

Drew's paternal great-grandparents Maurice and Georgie Drew Barrymore and her grandparents John Barrymore and Dolores Costello were all famous actors.

The passion for acting was also instilled in the "Never Been Kissed" star's parents, John Drew and Jaid Barrymore, whose relationship ended when the blonde beauty was a child.

Following her separation from John, Jaid began taking her daughter to auditions, resulting in the "Wildflower" author's appearance in a TV commercial before she turned one.

Then the up-and-coming child star made her film debut in Ken Russell's "Altered States" at 5-years-old before landing her big break in the iconic movie, "E.T.: The Extraterrestrial."
