Although the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy wasn’t exactly a hit with fans, it did make fans appreciate the original trilogy that much more.

There’s one character that first starred in the original trilogy before appearing in the prequel trilogy… and then again in the sequel trilogy!

English actor and mime artist Anthony Daniels has played C-3PO in 11 “Star Wars” films and is the only actor to have appeared in all theatrical films in the Skywalker Saga. He’s also been involved with many of their spin-offs, including providing the voice of C-3PO for “Star Wars” animated cartoons and video games.

And it seems like the 75-year-old actor is about to reprise his role as C-3PO yet again!

The last time we saw Anthony Daniels on-screen as C-3PO was in 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” which was the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga.

However, it seems that Anthony Daniels is heading back to a galaxy far, far away very, very soon!

In a new Instagram snap, Daniels posted a photo of himself in a motion-capture suit. “Finally, a new suit – that fits!” he wrote. He followed it up with the hashtags #mocap, #ealingstudios, #c3po, #iamc3po, and #starwars.

“Wow I almost didn’t recognize you because of your new suit,” one fan joked, playing of “The Force Awakens” line where he says, “It is I, C-3PO. You probably didn’t recognize me because of the red arm.”

“We will watch your career with great interest,” another fan commented, referring to another classic line from the prequel series.

“A surprise to be sure,” another fan wrote, to which another fan replied, “But a welcome one.”

Although there were many, many more callbacks to quotes from the iconic film series, many other fans questioned whether or not Anthony Daniels’ was gearing up for the long-awaited “A Droid Story.”

‘A Droid Story’ Coming… Soon?

At The Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day event, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedyannounced several new films and series on December 10, 2020. One of these projects was called “A Droid Story.” According to the press release:

“As Lucasfilm continues to develop new stories, the intersection of animation and visual effects offers new opportunities to explore. Lucasfilm Animation will be teaming up with Lucasfilm’s visual effects team, Industrial Light & Magic, to develop a special Star Wars adventure for Disney+, A Droid Story. This epic journey will introduce us to a new hero, guided by legendary duo R2-D2 and C-3PO.”

There is not much known about this project, except that it will feature a new character – most likely a droid, given the title – which will be guided by C-3PO and R2-D2 to complete its secret mission, which is known only to them. The animated film is set to be released on Disney+ at an unknown date.

Seeing Daniels hinting at a return for C-3PO makes fans wonder who else is about to make a return to a galaxy far, far away.

Is Harrison Ford Reprising His Role As Han Solo?

As The Blast previously reported, it seems that “Indiana Jones” star Harrison Ford is going to make a return as his other famous persona: the scruffy-looking nerf herder Han Solo.

Although Han Solo met his end in “The Force Awakens” at the hands of his son, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), he returned in “The Rise of Skywalker” to redeem Ben Solo and close out the trilogy.

However, this new cameo has Solo going back in time. According to rumors, Ford spent three days in London shooting a de-aged Han Solo cameo scene for the final chapter in “The Book of Boba Fett.” The de-aging technology is definitely needed, considering “The Book of Boba Fett” takes place about 30 years before “The Force Awakens” and only about five years after “The Return of the Jedi,” so Han should look roughly the same age as he did in the original trilogy.

Although some people have dismissed the speculation, it’s worth noting that he wouldn’t be the first original trilogy actor to make an appearance in a live-action Disney+ series. Mark Hamill reprised his role as Jedi Luke Skywalker for “The Mandalorian” season 2 finale. He was also de-aged for the role to make him look just a touch older than he did in “Return of the Jedi.”

Although fans still have a few weeks to find out whether or not Harrison Ford does make an appearance in “The Book of Boba Fett,” one thing is for sure: there are big surprises in store from a galaxy far, far away!
