Fans of "Jeopardy!" champion Amy Schneider are mourning the loss of one of the greatest trivia players to grace the "Jeopardy!" stage.

After an impressive 40-day run which became the second-longest winning streak in the show's history, Amy Schneider's long winning streak finally came to an end.

Her first milestone achievement was becoming the openly trans champion to qualify for the Tournament of Champions, which will be held later this year.

Her next achievement was claiming the title of the highest-earning woman with "Jeopardy!" history and the woman with the longest win streak. From there, she became the fifth millionaire in the game show's history and the fourth to do so during regular gameplay.

Her ultimate claim to fame, however, will be that she now holds the second-longest win streak in the show's history, beating former champion James Holzhauer (32 games) and Matt Amodio (38 games).

Although fans are sad to see her go, let's take a look back at the game that finally ended her win streak once and for all!

Going into her last game, Amy had a 40-day win streak of $1,382,800 dollars. She was up against Rhone, a librarian that taught an online dating class for senior citizens, and Janice, a music educator and choral director.

Going into the first "Jeopardy!" round, the three contestants faced categories such as "Creature Comforts," "Cereal," "10 Of A Kind," and "Conference Championship Heroes."

Amy had scored an impressive lead going into the second round after Rhone lost $1,400 dollars on a true Daily Double wager. Going into the second round, Amy had $7,200 dollars, Rhone had $3,400 dollars, and Janice had $2,000 dollars.

In the second round, they faced categories like "Book Bindings," "Alphabet Soup," "Celebs Who Appeared On Kids TV," and "E Before I."

Although Amy won $4,000 dollars from her Daily Double wager, Rhone got the second Daily Double question and managed to double his score to $15,600 against Amy's lead of $24,000.

Going into the "Final Jeopardy!" round, Amy had $27,600 and Rhone had $17,600, which meant that the game was not a runaway for Amy and that Rhone had a chance to upset Amy's win streak. Janice ended the round with only $3,200.

The "Final Jeopardy!" category for this game was "Countries of the World" and the clue read: "The only nation in the world whose name in English ends in an H, it’s also one of the 10 most populous."

Only Rhone got the "Final Jeopardy!" question correct with an answer of "What is Bangladesh?" He added $12,000 dollars to his score to create a new winning total of $29,600. An impressive payday - which was made all the more impressive when he realized that he had upset Amy's win streak!

Although Amy hasn't yet commented on her loss on Twitter to prevent any spoilers, she still had an exciting run. Amy recently took part in an exclusive interview on Good Morning America where she commented on what life might look like after her run on the show ended.

"I didn’t really know what it would be or how famous is ‘Jeopardy!’ famous, Amy said. "So it’s been a lot but it’s mostly been really fun."

Amy said the best part about appearing on "Jeopardy!" was "being on TV as my true self, expressing myself, and representing the entire community of trans people and just kind of showing a different thing that maybe some people have seen, of just being just smart, confident woman, and just doing something super normal like being on ‘Jeopardy!’"

Although Amy's win streak has come to an end, it's not the last that fans will see of Amy Schneider! She is set up to go up against Matt Amodio, Jonathan Fisher, Andrew He, and other great competitors from this season in the 2022 Tournament of Champions later this year.

“I’m also a little bit intimidated by it,” Amy admitted. “When I first started, I wasn’t sure if I might be going up against Matt Amodio and I was really hoping I wouldn’t, and now it turns out I’m going to have to anyway. So it’s going to be really challenging, a lot of strong players there, but it should be a lot of fun.”

In terms of what’s "next" for Amy Schneider, she said that she's still considering her options. "I’m considering, do I want to write a book?" Amy mused aloud. "Like, what other opportunities might be out there? And I’m really exploring that."
