It seems that Carole Baskin is back in the spotlight once again!
Although Joe Exotic is still behind bars, their public feud has spawned two Netflix shows - "Tiger King" and "Tiger King 2" - and a new Peacock limited series called "Joe vs. Carole."
Unlike in the Netflix drama series, Carole Baskin will not be playing herself. Instead, she will be played by "Saturday Night Live" comedian Kate McKinnon. The role of Joe Exotic will be played by John Cameron Mitchell. Actor Kyle MacLachlan will be playing Carole’s current husband, Howard.
In a new interview with Metro, the Big Cat Rescue founder and CEO shared exactly what she thought of the new series.
Carole Baskin Says That She Is Looking Forward To The New Series!
Although Baskin unsuccessfully tried to sue Netflix to stop them from using footage of her for “Tiger King 2,” she said that she is actually looking forward to the new Peacock series!
“My husband and I look forward to seeing Kate McKinnon and Kyle McLaughlin’s portrayal of us, even though we expect it will be a parody based on the trailer,” Baskin said.
“Both are talented actors and I expect ‘Joe vs Carole’ will be a lot more entertaining than the situation was in real life,” she continued.
“As with Netflix’s Tiger King, Murder, Mayhem and Madness and Wondery’s Joe Exotic, Over My Dead Body and all of the other spinoffs, none of these programmes created for entertainment value really get at the main issues of big cat and cub abuse and the imminent extinction of big cats due to cub petting, like we do in Discovery+ Carole Baskin’s Cage Fight,” she added, plugging her own show, which is available to stream on the Discovery+ app.
“My fear is that in the next five years, while people are morbidly obsessed the plight of my former husband, Don Lewis, we will have reached the point of no return for the planet by failing to safeguard the world’s most iconic species,” she added.
Although she is looking forward to the show, the trailer received mixed reactions from fans who felt that the new series comes two years too late!
Fans Remain Divided As To Whether 'Joe Vs. Carole' Is Worth The Watch!

The show’s official synopsis says that the show will “center on Carole Baskin, a big cat enthusiast, who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe ‘Exotic’ Schreibvogel is breeding and using his big cats for profit. She sets out to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry. But Carole has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose what he sees as her hypocrisy. The results prove dangerous.”
“the thing about chasing trends,” one fan noted. “Sometimes they fade before your project is finished.”
“The real version was enough..this will never measure up,” another shared.
“Tiger King is so 2020 I’m done,” another wrote.
“LOL! Man, did this get shelved for 2 years?” another asked. “Tiger what? Oh, that thing that people pretended to like years ago…….cool.”

Still, that doesn't mean all fans were put off by the trailer. Some are actually looking forward to the series and praised its casting!
“I’m excited to see this,” one fan wrote.
“I can not believe this is actually a thing,” another fan shared. “What baffles me more is the fact that I will most likely watch every single episode. Cats and kittens, we’re in for a ride.”
“Amazing casting,” wrote another. “Nailed it.”
“I’m so excited for this JCM is going to rock this performance,” another shared. “Just like he does everything else he does!”
Although fans remain undecided, “Joe vs. Carole” will be available to stream on Peacock starting on March 3, 2022. Fans can check out the first official teaser below and decide for themselves whether or not they'll join Carole Baskin and give the limited series a go!
