Addressing The Incident

Haddish had the perfect response when host Jimmy Fallon, 47, asked her whether she would like to discuss the incident where she was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

"I can say this, Jimmy... I've been praying to God to send me a new man," the actress jokingly replied, adding, "A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four... in uniform."

Haddish continued, "And now I got a really great lawyer, and we're going to work it out. I've got to get my asking of things to God a little better!"

Fallon then told her, "Yeah, you've got to be a little clearer!"

As reported by The Blast, police officers received a 911 call saying a driver was asleep at the wheel on Highway 74 around 2:30 in the morning. During the search, an officer saw a vehicle matching the caller’s description, which prompted the law enforcer to perform a traffic stop as she pulled into the yard of a home.

Haddish was then charged with DUI and booked into the Fayette County Jail.

"Subsequent investigation led to Ms. Tiffany Haddish being arrested for Driving Under the Influence," police shared to People. "She was transported to the Fayette County Jail without incident."

The "Girls Trip" star's arrest came a few weeks after her grandmother's death, as well as her pet dog and close pals Bob Saget and Carl Craig.

On Monday, Haddish also discussed the passing of both Saget and her grandmother, the person who raised her.

"[Saget] was like a big mentor to me, a big brother, a father figure. He meant a lot to me," she told Fallon.

She continued, "Funny man. He was the first white man to ever tell me, 'Just be yourself, just be who you are, Tiffany. Don't worry about nothing. Just be you.' That was huge for me."

The actress added, "And then, my grandma passed away, and she saved my life. That's my heart. She was like my soulmate. So that's been... really hard to process, all this... Grief."

In November, her furry friend died.

Haddish explained to Entertainment Tonight, "I'm very emotional. I've been crying a lot 'cause it's— that's my heart. My dog was my heart, and the other people who passed, you know, they were my rocks. They had my back. I mean, they taught me a lot, so I lost the physical, [but] I'm sure I got them in the spiritual."

Splitting From Common

Haddish also had her heart broken when she and her rapper boyfriend Common, 49, broke up. She confirmed she was dating the actor in August 2020.

Haddish appeared on the "Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee Uncensored" show in December. She got candid about being single and admitted that she was missing her man following their breakup in November.

"I miss him. I miss him from time to time, but that's with, I think, any intimate relationship that you might have, you miss them. But I'm fine with it. It's cool," Haddish said at the time. "I wish him nothing but joy and happiness. He will always be cool."

According to a source, "They are never in the same city together and both of them are just too busy for a serious relationship."

Earlier last month, Common also appeared on the same show and said that his relationship with Haddish was "the most mature" he's had and cited their busy work schedules as the reason for the split.

"It really didn't allow for us to spend as much time and put as much energy into our relationship," he explained. "I don't think the love really dispersed ... we weren't feeding the relationship ... but I think the energy that has been put into our careers and continuing to want to do the things that we do for ourselves and for people ... it was hard for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed."
