Cara Delevingne filed for a restraining order against a 'celebrity stalker' she claims threatened her through a hand-written letter of a possible "murder-suicide."
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the supermodel received a restraining order from a Los Angeles judge, after showing extremely disturbing messages from the man, including him showing up at her London and L.A. homes.
The person, whom we are choosing not to name, is accused of harassing the supermodel and showing up unannounced at her properties.
Cara Delevinge Receives Scary Letter From Alleged Stalker In Her Home's Mailbox
Delevingne filed a declaration in the case, outlining the disturbing behavior of the "stalker" -- saying, "I never had any personal communications with him, nor do I desire any interaction or communication with him. Despite his not personally knowing me, [he] has sought to have personal contact with me and insert himself into my personal and private life. He has engaged in stalking and harassment directed at me, which is seriously alarming, annoying, and harassing me."
In the filing, Cara describes a recent interaction with the person after he traveled from Switzerland to England to deliver a letter to her mailbox. The "long rambling, semi-coherent and disturbing hand-written letter, address to me, was found along with a second short letter curled up inside a mood ring, and a diary in my mailbox," Cara reveals.
"He left a hand-written letter at her house with reference to murder-suicide. The conduct has caused and induced harm, including stress, fear for her safety, and emotional distress," a lawyer for the model wrote.
Cara Delevingne Says The Accused Stalker Threatened A Murder-Suicide
In the letter, the person made "references to death‚ violence and possible murder-suicide as his quest to locate and be with [Delevinge].
It reads in part, "i'm gonna off myself." "want to off myself because of that noise ever since it began, so about 9-10 years now. But you said it, it will kill me if we do not come together..." and "I actually want to die with you together‚ sleeping our way into the background Like that first night we shared."
On that day, the person rang the doorbells of Cara's home, along with one of the neighbors. The man appeared to be in a "bad way" and had visible scars on his wrists. The police were called to the scene and ultimately admitted him to a "mental hospital in East London" the report states. Shockingly, the person attempted to make contact with Cara by placing orders on a website she owns with her sisters while still hospitalized.
Man Is Arrested, Placed In Metal Health Facility For Treatment
"He is a mentally unstable stalker, with a fixation on and obsession with [Cara], who delusionally believes he personally knows her. He has engaged in compulsive stalking and unwanted and unsolicited attempt to contact and access her," the lawyer continued.
Unfortunately, according to the filing, the person made his way to Los Angeles and showed up unannounced at her property.
Security guards working for the model captured his attempt to access Cara on camera and called LAPD. The man was arrested after "exhibiting signs of apparent mental illness and made admissions as to stalking" the model.
Alleged Stalker Ordered To Stay 100 Yards Away From Cara, Poppy, And Chole Delevingne
LAPD issued an emergency protective order, and Delevinge is filing this restraining order to prevent him from returning to her home. She writes, "the aggressive and harassing conduct are extremely distressing and are causing me constant anxiety and emotional distress. I am in fear of [him] for my personal safety‚ and that of those around me, including others at my home, my family, and my employees."
The person was ordered to stay 100 yards away from her home, work, and the protection extends to her sisters Poppy and Chloe.
