Back in August, Wright was hurt while performing a stunt on set in Boston. Her injuries were not disclosed, but it was reported that she was hurt while performing a sequence that involved the use of a stunt rig.

Although it’s not clear how badly she was injured, she was off set for two months to allow her time to recover, which means that she suffered a little bit more than a bad scrape!

It’s reported that writer and director Ryan Coogler completed as many scenes as he could without her in it so they could stay on track for the film’s November 11 release date.

If Wright’s injuries weren’t bad enough, the film's production also shut down when star Lupita Nyong’o and several other cast members tested positive for COVID-19.

Many characters are reprising their role from the original, including Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda, and Winston Duke as M’Baku. Michael Coel of “I May Destroy You” fame has joined the cast in an undisclosed role and Dominique Thorne will make her debut as young inventor Riri Williams before starring in her own Disney+ show called “Ironheart.”

Many shows, including “NCIS” and “Star Trek: Picard” have also had to postpone filming in early January with the recent spike of COVID-19 cases, particularly in the Los Angeles areas.

‘Black Panther’ Sequel Will NOT Recast Chadwick Boseman

Many fans were wondering about the fate of T’Challa after the “Black Panther” lead Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer in 2020. The sequel was delayed due to the script being completely rewritten after his death. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has since stated that the studio is not going to recast Boseman’s character of T’Challa, which leaves many wondering where the story will go.

Many costars took to social media to pay their respects to the late acting legend.

Co-star Nyong’o tweeted, “I did not know that I could miss both his laughter and his silence in equal measure. I do. I do... One year after his passing, the memory of @chadwickboseman remains this alive in me.”

Co-star Angela Bassett left a long message on Instagram, writing, “It was meant to be for Chadwick and me to be connected, for us to be family. But what many don’t know is our story began long before his historic turn as Black Panther.”

“During the premiere party for Black Panther, Chadwick reminded me of something,” she continued. “He whispered that when I received my honorary degree from Howard University, his alma mater, he was the student assigned to escort me that day. And here we were, years later as friends and colleagues, enjoying the most glorious night ever!”

“We’d spent weeks prepping, working, sitting next to each other every morning in makeup chairs, preparing for the day together as mother and son,” she went on. “I am honored that we enjoyed that full circle experience. This young man’s dedication was awe-inspiring, his smile contagious, his talent unreal.”

“So I pay tribute to a beautiful spirit, a consummate artist, a soulful brother... ‘thou aren’t not dead but flown afar...’,” she concluded. “All you possessed, Chadwick, you freely gave. Rest now, sweet prince.” #WakandaForever”
