Singer Adele delayed the start of her Las Vegas residency due to COVID-19 ripping through her team, but a new report suggests a bout of stage fright might have helped make the decision.

According to reports, Adele canceled the Las Vegas shows -- scheduled at The Coliseum in Ceasars Palace -- after experiencing problems with her crew coming down with COVID, along with delivery issues. Now, allegations have surfaced about managers and the venue pushing the singer to perform with a 60-person choir, even though she wanted a low-profile show.

As we reported, the 33-year-old singer struggled through tears announced the delay of her Vegas residency, especially fans who made the trip to Sin City. It should be noted, there is NO doubt COVID-19 played a part in the cancelation of Adele's concerts. Sources say at least HALF of her crew came down with the virus at the same time and caused huge issues with the preparation. "I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready, we’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID," she said on IG. Adding, "Half my crew, half my team is down with COVID -- they still are -- and it’s been impossible to finish the show. I can’t give you what I have right now, and I’m gutted. I’m gutted, and I’m sorry it’s so last-minute."

But, Adele has been very open about her anxiety on stage, once revealing in a television interview, "I’m scared of audiences. One show in Amsterdam, I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I’ve thrown up a couple of times. Once in Brussels, I projectile vomited on someone. I just gotta bear it. But I don’t like touring. I have anxiety attacks a lot."

Adding, in some instances, she is in a "constant panicking on stage, my heart feels like it's going to explode because I never feel like I'm going to deliver, ever."

As we reported, fans are upset by the last-minute decision -- claiming she should have had more warning if it was COVID-related. "Nobody cancels the day before. You have more than 24 hours’ notice of Covid problems. I hear that Adele never wanted to do the Vegas shows in the first place," a source told the outlet.

"She is a perfectionist and you can see that in the way she puts her albums back and back until she is happy with them. But more than that she is a recording artist and not a performer and she should never have agreed to these shows in the first place," another added.

The good news is Adele promised to reschedule the shows -- and whenever it goes down -- you know it will be worth the wait!
