Bravo Faces Backlash Over RHOSLC Jennie Nguyen Deleted Racist Posts

Reality TV giants Bravo are once again facing backlash for their improper handling of a racist event involving Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Jennie Nguyen’s now-deleted Facebook posts from only a few years ago.
Bravo Is Dealing With Another Racism Scandal
RHOSLC was no doubt a hit this season. From Jenn Shah’s infamous arrest in the Beauty Lab & Laser parking lot to Meredith Marks being accused of giving her co-star up to the feds. Fans of the show were just tucking in to get ready for what is sure to be an explosive reunion but surprise! One last little mess to get fans riled up.
Nguyen’s fans (or haters) have dug up an uncomfortable amount of now-deleted posts from 2020 that spewed hate for anti-Trump-ers, the Black Lives Matter movement and anti-vaxxers. The newest housewife is Vietnamese and made it a point to share with fans and co-stars the struggles she has dealt with due to racism.
She even had a back and forth with co-star Mary Crosby who made insensitive comments about Nguyen's "slanted eyes" on more than one occasion. Yet, here she is... pot... kettle... black.
RHOSLC Jennie Nguyen’s Facebook Posts Are Vile
Not only did the mom of three proudly vocalize her stance she also shared photos of herself with guns and not your standard-issue either. Some of the other things she felt inclined to share included, an Islamophobic meme about Colin Kaepernick, a Blue Lives Matter flag, she even posted some Q-anon rhetoric.
Since being called out the reality star went ahead and deleted her posts and issued an apology on Instagram. She claims she is deeply sorry and thought she was doing something right at that moment.
“I thought I was speaking out against violence, but I have since learned how offensive and hurtful my words were. It’s why I deactivated that account more than a year ago and why I continue to try to learn about perspectives different from my own.”
RHOSLC Cast Members Bash Jennie Nguyen
Nguyen is now having to navigate her way through her angry co-stars. Jenn Shah issued a statement noting that she can’t sit back and say nothing knowing that she is a mother and raising black men. “I must now stand up, on behalf of my husband and sons who are African American, to say that I am deeply offended by the racially insensitive posts and comments.”

Lisa Barlow also issued a statement making it clear that her “good friend” Jennie’s behavior is not to be tolerated. “The posts were harmful and hurtful to a community I love,” wrote Barlow, she also noted that in no way does she “condone” Nguyen’s rhetoric.
Before the cast was allowed to officially comment, Whitney Rose shared a cryptic message on IG. “Recent events have reminded me of the importance of always leading with LOVE, light, and kindness. It is NEVER ok to blatantly make, comment, post, and/or share any type of racially charged & derogatory statements/posts.”
Bravo Facing Backlash Online
As with the cast, fans have taken to social media to call out Bravo for not acting fast enough or doing their background research before hiring Nguyen. Reports surfaced that instead of addressing the issue, Bravo tried to gag the stars from speaking and Bravo fans don't like that!
So Bravo fans, how we handling this tomorrow? I personally will not be watching Bravo till I get answers. Who else is with me? My platform is small, so you all with the many followers need to spread the word. Don't talk about it, be about it! #Bravo #RHOSLC @BravoWWHL @BravoTV

“It’s Bravo and Andy trying to silence their cast members on speaking out against racism for me,” shared a follower.
“The ##RHOSLC newest rumor is that Jen Shah has been fired over making a statement about Jennie… if that’s true i’m pissed… #Bravo kept Theresa’s thieving ass on, Erika’s thieving ass, Ramona’s elitist ass, Luann’s blackface ass on… the list goes on.”
This obviously shouldn’t end well for Nguyen but Bravo’s tolerance levels have always been in question. The only downside to this drama is that the reunion is already finished filming so fans won’t get to see the cast confront Nguyen.
