Fans Have Mixed Reactions Over 'Tiger King' Inspired 'Joe Vs Carole'

Fans aren’t sure how to feel about the new series “Joe vs Carole.”

The limited series is inspired by the hit Netflix series “Tiger King” and plays up the feud between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin. John Cameron Mitchell is starring as the titular Tiger King, and “Saturday Night Live” alum Kate McKinnon is starring as Big Cats Rescue founder Carole Baskin.

The show’s official synopsis says that the show will “center on Carole Baskin, a big cat enthusiast, who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe ‘Exotic’ Schreibvogel is breeding and using his big cats for profit. She sets out to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry. But Carole has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose what he sees as her hypocrisy. The results prove dangerous.”

Although Tiger King was a smash success for Netflix, fans aren’t quite sure how to feel about this new scripted comedy series.

Some fans can’t wait to see the claws come out!

“I’m excited to see this,” one fan wrote.

“I can not believe this is actually a thing,” another fan shared. “What baffles me more is the fact that I will most likely watch every single episode. Cats and kittens, we're in for a ride.”

“This is what Netflix has been preparing us for,” another fan joked.

“I'm so excited for this JCM is going to rock this performance,” another shared. “Just like he does everything else he does!”

Some fans point to the lackluster “Tiger King” sequel that debuted late last year as a sign that “Tiger King” is past its prime.

“the thing about chasing trends,” one fan noted. “Sometimes they fade before your project is finished.”

“The real version was enough..this will never measure up,” another shared.

“Tiger King is so 2020 I’m done,” another wrote.

“LOL! Man, did this get shelved for 2 years?” another asked. “Tiger what? Oh, that thing that people pretended to like years ago.......cool.”

“So, you want me to watch a series on the Peacock streaming network that's about the same documentary series that currently playing on the Netflix streaming network ?” another asked.  “Wait..........what?”

“Wow... Sometimes actors shouldn't take roles that they are considered favourite candidates for,” another wrote. “This will be a mess.”

“Literally nobody wanted or needed this,” another shared.

“Lol 2 years too late,” another commented.

“This probably aren't gonna drive up those subscription numbers Peacock,” another commented. “But I'll give it a go. Kate is dedicated enough to all her characters to maybe pull this off.”

“Yikes...they look NOTHING like them..they should have used descent prosthetics...” another wrote. “Kate could be Carol if they added weight to her but that dude looks like a Party City version of Joe.”

“I mean, Kate McKinnon is cool and all but couldn't they have gotten someone like Melissa McCarthy or someone else that looked like Carole Baskin?” another asked.

“A one time watch of the Netflix show was all I needed when it came to this awful story,” another wrote. “I feel I wasted my time even watching this trailer.”
