Adele may have cried off her Las Vegas residency, and initially, fans may have been sympathizing with her tearful tale, but hearts are now becoming hardened and the trolls have risen.
Fans who are facing hotel cancellations and wasted airfare tickets are mad, not because of the cancellation but for the last-minute announcement of it. Plus, more want to know, what’s with the “sexual scenes” in “Oh My God?”
Adele’s ‘Sob Story’ Cancellation

Earlier on Thursday Adele went on social media with a video where tearfully apologized for canceling her Las Vegas residency, with less than 24 hours’ notice. She sobbed through her video, leaving off her make-up, telling fans how her show “ain’t ready” because production had been destroyed. She blamed “delivery delays” and COVID-19 infecting “half her crew”.
So all the shows that were scheduled between January and April have been canceled and fans have until mid-February to decide. They can claim a full cash refund or hold on to the tickets for rescheduled shows, though nothing on the latter has been announced yet.
This is Adele, being sobbingly honest, enough to touch her fans’ hearts, at least in the beginning.

Blown away by her emotional honesty, fans were empathizing with her on Instagram, one writing, “Sometimes a setback is really a “set up” in disguise for something better to happen. 🙏🏽❤️ we will be there when you’re ready!!! 😘😘😘”.
Adele Thanked Her Fans A Little Too Early
Overwhelmed by the positivity she was receiving, Adele took to Twitter to thank her loyal fans for all their support.
I have the best fans in the world! Your graciousness and love tonight is overwhelming! Thank you ♥️

But her gratefulness may be a little premature as the Adele “bashing” has already started, especially by fans who are stuck in Las Vegas, having traveled there to catch Adele’s very first show.
Here’s one irate Tweet.
.@Adele should refund not only concert tickets but also tickets for flights & hotels her fans had paid for to come see her just so she can cancel 24hrs before the event. & the BS sobbing doesn’t work. It’s a disgraceful behaviour from primadonna. #Adele #LasVegas #AdeleVegas

But there are plenty more where this one came from. Wrote another Twitter user, “Adele forcing fans to be jabbed to attend her concert, then canceling 24hrs beforehand becoz her band/crew have contacted covid is #karma in its most beautiful form. Tbf if I had to listen to her for 3 hrs I’d want an injection for a lethal one #AdeleVegas“. Well, ouch!
And yet, the singer FaceTimes all her fans who were already at Ceasers’ and even sang with them.

Trolled For ‘Sexual Scenes’?
View this post on Instagram
Adele recently dropped her “Oh My God” video and suffice to say, fans were adequately bowled over.
But the trolls will be trolling, and they found something in these videos as well.
Wrote one (former?) fan, “You used to dress modestly and your clips didn’t include sexual scenes.
What happened? Is it difficult to adhere to our valuable principles? You were unique and different! smh”
And a whole debate took off from there, with many trolling the Instagram user while others agreed with them.
Another IG user had a valid point though, “I get your point but is really selfish of you wanting everybody else to adjust to YOUR principles and what is right FOR YOU. Adele is a free, grown woman who can follow different paths to show the world her art, and she is also allowed to change her mind. It’s a very simple equation: if you think she is doing something wrong, don’t do the same.”
Meanwhile, Adele will continue to be what she is. A free woman who does what she wants. ‘Nuff said.
