'Jeopardy!' Champ Amy Schneider Picks Up Her Biggest Win Yet - See Her Total!

Current “Jeopardy!” champion Amy Schneider just earned her highest-scoring win on the show!

It’s not high enough to break the into the “Jeopardy!” Hall of Fame leaderboard, which has all top ten spots dominated by James Holzhauer, but it’s still an impressive payday nonetheless!

Let’s break down last night’s episode and see how Amy came out on top yet again!

On Thursday, the engineering manager returned to defend her 36-day win streak against challengers Brittany, a trial attorney who once met a bear on a solo hike in the Smokey Mountains, and Patrick, a biochemistry professor who once had a family New Year’s mustache competition.

The first “Jeopardy!” round included categories such as “Also Known As,” “Getting A Shot,” “Anti-Synonyms,” and “Action Movie!” After the first round had ended, Amy had scored an impressive lead of $10,800. Patrick had $4,200 and Brittany was in the hole, as they say, with -$400.

The “Double Jeopardy!” round contained categories like “A Farce To Be Reckoned With,” “International Men of Mystery,” “South Asia,” and “Starts With 3 Consonants.”

Amy got all three “Double Jeopardy!” questions correct from the first round and the second round, which resulted in the game being a complete shut-out. Going into the “Final Jeopardy!” round, Amy had already won the game with $46,400. Patrick only had $3,000. Brittany finished in the red at -$2,800 and did not move onto the “Final Jeopardy!” round.

The “Final Jeopardy!” category “Words in American History.” The answer was: “The 1980 Census reported that ‘the unsettled area has been broken into… that there can hardly be said to be a’  this.”

Both Amy and Patrick provided a correct answer of “What is frontier?”

Although Amy has been losing $15,000 and $20,000 dollars in the past few “Final Jeopardy!” rounds by betting big and answering incorrectly, her big wager paid off in this game! Amy added $25,000 dollars to her score to bring her daily total up to $71,400 – her highest one-day total so far!

It also brings her 37-day total up to $1,253,200 dollars and leaves her one day away from tying with Matt Amodio for his second-place record.

Amy has been making headlines over the past month for her legendary run on “Jeopardy!”. First, she was the first openly trans champion to qualify for the Tournament of Champions, which will be held later this year.

In December, she became the highest-earning woman in “Jeopardy!” history and the woman with the longest winning streak. She’s also the fifth millionaire in “Jeopardy!” history, and the fourth to do so during regular gameplay.

Last week, Amy beat James Holzhauer’s record of 32 games to earn the recognition of having the third-longest win streak in the show’s decades-long history. Right now, she is only one game away from tying with Matt Amodio’s win streak of 38 games. Since today is a Friday, if she wins today, it means that fans will have to wait until Monday if she is able to beat Matt’s score and walk away with a total of 39 games - and the second-place title.

However, she still remains pretty far away from current host Ken Jennings. In 2004, Jennings set a seemingly untouchable record when he won 74 games in a row! It’s only a matter of time to see if Amy is going to be able to conquer Ken’s win streak as well!

Even if she loses today, Amy can still be pretty proud of her run, which has even earned her a GLAAD Media Award nomination! The GLAAD Media Awards “recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives.”

Amy picked up a nomination in the Special Recognition category, along with “The Laverne Cox Show” and several others.

On Twitter, Amy thanked the GLAAD Media Award for her nomination, adding that she was “honored and humbled” to be recognized with a nomination.

“Hi all!” she began. “So, yesterday’s and today’s game threads will get up at some point, but as you might imagine my life is pretty crazy right now! But I did want to take a moment to acknowledge how honored and humbled I am to have been recognized in this year’s @glaad Media Awards.”

“Of all the things that have come out of my Jeopardy run, I will always be most proud of any good that I’ve managed to do for the trans community, so this acknowledgment means more than I can ever say,” she added.
