Kris Jenner Urges Khloé Kardashian To Keep 'Lines Of Communication Open' With Tristan Thompson

Kris Jenner is pushing to keep the communication between Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson open.

A source close to the family said that the momager, 66, has been trying to fix things between the "Good American" co-founder, 30, and the NBA star, 30.

Kardashian has been leaning on her mom as she copes with the paternity drama that involved her ex. Earlier this month, Thompson confirmed that he fathered his third child with Maralee Nichols, 31, while he was dating the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" alum. As reported by The Blast, the personal trainer sued him for child support and other pregnancy-related fees.

"She's leaning heavily on Kris all of the time. But Kris wants Khloé and Tristan to be in a good place so she's encouraging Khloé to keep the lines of communication open," the insider told People.

This isn't the first time that the athlete has been involved in a cheating scandal while in a relationship with the reality star. With all the pain he has caused Kardashian, she's currently having a hard time accepting his recent scandal, a source confirmed.

"Khloé is really struggling with what's happening with Tristan," the source said. "This time that he was unfaithful has been much harder than the previous times. She really wants the relationship to work and she has been devastated."

The insider added, "[Khloé] wanted the fairytale life with him and she's so upset. People around her have never seen her so down and are so thankful she has her mother there who has barely left her side."

Another source revealed earlier this month that Kardashian is moving on from the drama.

"She wants the new year to be different," said the source. "She wants to focus on her own happiness."

As for finding love again, Kardashian may not be so keen on it at the moment as she "can't imagine dating right now," as per the insider.

"But her family knows that she will meet the right guy when she is ready," the source added. "It's hard for her family when she is upset. They love her so much. Khloé is such a strong person though. She has already moved on after finding out that Tristan was expecting another baby."

Thompson confirmed that he is the father of Nichols' son, who was born on December 1, in a message posted to his Instagram Story on January 3. When the news came out, he kept denying that the baby was his.

"Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols," the Canadian basketball player wrote. "I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son."

He added, "I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately."

On the next slide, Thompson apologized to Kardashian, writing, "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

Thomspon and Kardashian share 3½-year-old daughter True. He also has another son named Prince, 4, with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig.

According to Page Six, Kardashian responded to Thompson in private.

“Khloé decided not to respond back publicly, but privately she let him know she appreciated the message," the source shared. "She is taking the high road, and while she will never, ever get back with him, Khloé really wants Tristan to be a good father to [their daughter] True, and for him to be a big part of their daughter’s life."

The same insider also noted that Kardashian's "a great mom and she wants her daughter to have a good relationship with her dad … So for that reason, Khloé is not going to fight with Tristan or block him from the family."
