Fans of the Netflix hit “Bridgerton,” can't wait for the show's second season to premiere on March 25.
Although the first season focused on the love story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the show's second season will follow the Julia Quinn novels they are based on and follow the love story of her brother, Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).
He is determined to make a love match when Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) arrive from India. Although he intends to wed Edwina, Kate decides to intervene when she realizes that Anthony does not truly love her. As they butt heads, they both slowly start to fall in love with one another.
The series features a large cast that also includes Adjoa Andoh, Lorraine Ashbourne, Harriet Cains, Bessie Carter, Shelley Conn, Nicola Coughlan, Ruth Gemmell, Florence Hunt, Martins Imhangbe, Claudia Jessie, Calam Lynch, Luke Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Thompson, Will Tilston, Polly Walker, Rupert Young, and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown.
Shonda Rhimes Teases What To Expect From Season 2!
Shonda Rhimes is returning as executive producer under her Shondaland company and teased what fans can expect from the second season since it was announced last year that Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), the Duke of Hastings, would not be making a return.
"I think there’s a powerful, interesting, romantic couple at the heart of it," she said in a recent interview with Variety.
"They’re an incredibly interesting and exciting pair," she continued. "I like to watch them."
"Our goal, if we do our job correctly, is you are going to be as invested and excited by that couple as you were by the couple of Season 1," she added.
Her statements were echoed by Chris Van Dusen, who serves as the series creator.
