Did The Chainsmokers duck away from the limelight to undergo major plastic surgeries?

That seems to be the rumor on the street!

The EDM duo comprised of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart announced they’d be taking a social media hiatus in February 2020.

They said they would be using this time to “create our next chapter in music.”

Following their announcement, the dynamic duo deleted everything from social media EXCEPT for their hiatus statement.

Today, their official Instagram is filled with new music teasers and two men who look eerily similar to Pall and Taggart, but there’s something not right about their looks.

This is where the plastic surgery rumors and conspiracy theory come into play.

Alex & Drew, Is That You?!?

Videos of two white men who look like Pall and Taggart have been popping up on their TiKTok account.

The first video of the “cosmetically enhanced” Chainsmokers popped up on January 10.

In the video fans see Pall and Taggart with completely new facial aesthetics.

“Hey Chainsmokers here. Yeah we’ve been gone for a couple years,” the new Taggart said.

“We’ve been uh changing our career plan a little bit,” a nearly unrecognizable Pall adds.

“We’ve been getting into the boxing world. MMA. Little bit of MDMA. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. And we’re coming for you Jake Paul. Ron Paul. Aaron Paul. There’s only room for one Pall in this town and that’s Alex Pall,” the two said simultaneously.

Since that initial video, multiple other videos featuring the guys have continued to circulate on TikTok.

More recently, a fan under the TikTok name @SUGENE posted a video titled “Where they’ve really been.”

The Conspiracy Theory!

In it she says, “Did you know the real reason the Chainsmokers haven’t really been active? This might shock you. Alex and Andrew basically underwent a lot of plastic surgery. They look completely different. They got facelifts, botox, rhinoplasty, and one of them even got muscle implants. They’ve really been traveling the world reinventing different talents of theirs. The surgeries they had were actually astronomical. They had no issues along the way, and what we love is they stuck by each other’s side. Their new talents changed the world by storm and you guys have seen them. Alex and Andrew became Sangwoo and Ali from ‘Squid Games.’”

The Chainsmokers got wind of the video and responded, “Why would we mess with perfection?”

Turns out… they never actually messed with “perfection.”

They’ve been in on the plastic surgery gag from the very start.

Pall and Taggart hired lookalikes / doppelgängers to announce their comeback and “TCS4.”

On January 13, the guys announced they were back with a mockumentary about their hiatus.

However, it appears ONE fan didn’t get updated about the PR stunt on their TikTok or Instagram posts, and uploaded another conspiracy theory video.

“Has anybody else noticed we haven’t seen The Chainsmokers in years? They’re gone. Literally it’s almost been two years, because they’ve been gone ever since they posted this highly suspicious, mysterious post on Instagram in February 2020,” the TikTok user said.

The video was uploaded by The Chainsmokers to their personal TikTok account and they captioned it, “This has gone too far.”

So, it looks like Pall and Taggart are back from their hiatus and their doppelgängers are just a part of their new chapter!
