Jamie Lynn Spears is making the media rounds to promote her new book, “Things I Should Have Said.”
The younger sister of Britney Spears has been garnering massive amount of attention recently due to her book, and online feud with the pop princess.
Britney has made claims about Jamie Lynn that she isn’t a good sister and is spreading false narratives.
The singer even called her little sister “scum” and the lowest of the LOW.
Their back-and-forth feud has created quite the dramatic storyline, and even upset fans to the point where they’re asking the them to stop the madness.
On Tuesday, January 18, Jamie Lynn appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with host Alex Cooper.
Within the first five minutes, Jamie Lynn made it clear she has a bone to pick with her parents about her name.
In her book, Jamie Lynn explained that she wasn’t a planned pregnancy and that she was an “Oops baby.”
Jamie & Lynne Spears Were Done With Kids After Britney's Birth
Cooper asks, “What was your mom’s reaction to finding out she was pregnant?”
Jamie Lynn responded, “She was really mad, like ‘Why am I pregnant? You had the surgery.’ I’ve never had a vasectomy, obviously, but I hear that when you have them you have to go for the checkup, because sometimes if it doesn’t take, then you are still fertile and you can still get a woman pregnant.”
She also explained that her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, didn’t want any more kids after Britney.
“I was determined to get on this earth,” JL quipped.
Cooper follows up asking Jamie Lynn, “Who told you that story? Like when did you find out that you were an ‘Oops baby?’”
Jamie Lynn Felt Like An 'Afterthought' To Her Parents
“I feel like I never didn’t not know that. I feel like I kind of just like, I mean my sister’s 10 years older than me, my brother’s 14 years old. I think maybe it was kind of a conversation of first off, why don’t I have a ‘B’ name, second off, why did you have them so close together and not me,” she stated. “It was just kind of like, ‘Oh well, we didn’t mean to have you and we did.’ And then I guess they got real clever with my name and they just put their names together and here I am.”
But here’s the catch and where Jamie Lynn takes issue with her name.
“Well, it seems to be both of them are ‘B J’ like Brian James, Britney Jean, and then Jamie Lynn? Honestly, that is what made me ask, ‘Why don’t I have a B-name, like why don’t I have the same name,’” she said.
‘Lynne’ is a Spears family name and is spelled with an ‘e’ at the end; however, Jamie Lynn’s name doesn’t have an ‘e.’
“Well, I know that my birth was not an easy birth. I know that my mom had to go into an emergency C-section, it was like not an easy birth, so I was just like, ‘Were you highly medicated and wrote ya’lls names in the wrong spot? I just couldn’t wrap my… because, also, she did not spell my name the way the ‘Lynne’ name is spelled in our family,” Jamie Lynn exclaimed. “I don’t have an ‘e,’ everyone else has an ‘e.’ I have a cousin, Laura Lynne, it’s L Y N N E. My mom’s name is L Y N N E, and I’m just no freakin’ ‘e.’ You just… I don’t get it. You’re not going to even give me that connection?”
She went on to explain that her father’s alcoholism really caused turmoil in their family.
Jamie Lynn said, “You know innately as a child that something’s different. And then I could see the way my mom would act when he was around. I didn’t know what alcohol was obviously at a young age. I didn’t know what drunk was at a young age, but I knew, I would sometimes see a part of my daddy and I didn’t like it. And it was more than being mad, it would hurt me. It would hurt my heart. You’re capable of being so great, like, why are you doing this to yourself? I knew that innately at a young age.”
She continued to explain that her older siblings helped protect her from seeing her father under the influence.
“He wasn’t around that much. So, I have great memories with him and I also have memories where I knew something wasn’t right,” Jamie Lynn said. "I guess I kind of always felt like an afterthought. I mean I literally was, so I just kind of learned to stay out of the way."
