'This Is Us': Fans Are Anticipating A Reunion Between Kevin And Cassidy

As we are coming to the sixth and final season of "This Is Us," fans and viewers yearned for answers to various puzzled storylines that have left them confused throughout these years since the show started airing.

"This Is Us" is an American drama TV series that premiered on NBC in September 2016. It was created by Dan Fogelman and starred Sterling Brown, Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley, Chris Sullivan, Jon Huertas, and many more.

The series is filmed in Los Angeles, and it centers on the lives of two parents, their kids, and families in different time frames. One of these puzzling storylines is the love story between Kevin (Hartley) and Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison).

Another puzzle is the emotional connection between Kevin, Cassidy, and Nicky (Griffin Dunne), Kevin's uncle. In a Reddit thread, fans clamored for a reunion, with a twist, between Kevin and Cassidy.

Cassidy Sharp, played by Jennifer Morrison, was introduced in the fourth season of the series, which premiered on September 24, 2019. She played the recurring role of an alcoholic and marine veteran who wanted to return to civilian life.

When she was introduced, the show's viewers were optimistic about Cassidy becoming a love interest for Kevin. However, their relationship took an unexpected but meaningful turn. Kevin and Cassidy had a similar backstory as they were both recovering addicts. Their similar history made them bond over insignificant and straightforward things. Cassidy came into Kevin's life not long after finding his long-lost uncle living alone in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Nicky's place was about three hours from where Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), Kevin's father, raised his family in Pittsburgh. Due to shared dependencies between Nicky, Kevin, and Cassidy, they went through their sh*t together.

Kevin went into heavy drug use after sustaining a knee injury which caused the escalation of a former football injury. In contrast, Cassidy and Nicky used alcohol to numb the part of their past that caused them so much pain. Kevin and Cassidy's friendship grew physically into a relationship; however, they were sober about their decision to jeopardize their friendship just by sleeping with each other.

Towards the end of season five, Kevin and Madison's marriage didn't go as planned, making Kevin a single father of twins, Franny and Nick. As the seasons went by, the relationship between Kevin and Madison became viewers' favorite.

While some people wanted Kevin and Madison's reunion, some other viewers are hopeful that Kevin and Cassidy will come back and remain together happily. In a thread on Reddit, viewers discussed the possibility of them reuniting during Nicky's wedding.

Nicky was getting married to Edie, played by Vanessa Bell Calloway, and it looked like the best chance for a reunion between Cassidy and Kevin. A Reddit fan wondered if Cassidy would help Kevin get his family back together?

The fan confirmed that re-watching some of the episodes makes the whole story clearer. He also said that it's exaggerated for anyone to think that the duo can go from remorse to marriage.

Another viewer explained that a flashback of a conversation between Kevin and Kate about relocating to a small town and finding a beautiful woman foreshadows the possibility that Cassidy would probably end up with Kevin.

At the time of the conversation, Cassidy was the girl that flashed through his mind, bore him kids, and built a family. Also, she once told him that he hoped he found his happy ending. The viewer is rooting for a reunion but sees Kevin ending up with Madison.

Currently, no one is sure if Cassidy will be returning for the season finale of the television drama series. It also means that we don't know if she will appear during Nicky's wedding to Edie.

At the moment, we only have the teasers and names of the cast members appearing in four episodes, and sadly, Cassidy's name is not included. Whatever twist the show might be planning may or may not return Cassidy to the season finale.
