Jamie Lynn Spears hopes to clear her name and tell the truth about her involvement in her sister Britney Spears' controversial conservatorship.
The sisters have been embroiled in a bitter exchange of words in light of the release of Jamie's memoir "Things I Should Have Said," and it seems Jamie wants to put the back and forth to rest with her upcoming interview.
Jamie Lynn Spears Set To Appear On 'Call Her Daddy'
Jamie is set to make an appearance on the famous podcast "Call Her Daddy" hosted by Alexandra Cooper and Sofia Franklyn in a two-part interview that will air on Monday.
A teaser shared from the upcoming sit-down showed Jamie in the middle of clearing her name with a text message from Britney. In the clip, Jamie comes into the studio and settles down before answering a heated question from the host.
Cooper says, "Let's get into it. You have a text message that clears your name from your sister. Can you pull out your phone and read that recent text from Britney?"
Jamie proceeds to do just as she is told, asking someone in the background to hand over her phone. There's a tense exchange of stares between the pair before the "Zoey 101" stares at her screen, mumbling some words.
Jamie then proceeds to read the text message, saying, "She says to me" before the scene is cut to share the announcement of the 2-part series, which will be released by midnight. Since the release of the teaser, fans have bashed the "Sweet Magnolias" star of chasing clout.
One fan wrote, "using Britney again for relevancy hmmm," while another stated, "ABUSERS DON'T DESERVE PLATFORM!" Another angered user wondered, "Wtf. Didn't JL say she wants to handle this privately, and now she's reading Britney's texts on a f***ing podcast???
Other netizens are bashing Cooper for giving Jamie her huge platform rather than supporting Britney. One user noted, "Embarrassing. You'd think with that $60 million dollar Spotify deal you wouldn't have to scrape the barrel and give an abuser such a massive platform and benefit off this situation. But hey, girls supporting girls right? Fitting."
Britney Spears And Justin Timberlake's Split
Apart from the conservatorship saga, Jamie touched on her sister's controversial relationship with Justin Timberlake and the heartbreak she suffered following their publicized split.
In the first part of the podcast interview, Jamie revealed that it was difficult seeing her sister go through such emotional pain while the world watched. In her words,
I think everyone thought it was forever. I was so sad, first off because my sister was so sad, but that, too, was the first time I saw [that] maybe I didn't know everything about the relationship.
She mentioned that she was protected from the details of the relationship and breakup because no one talked to her about anything. While Jamie didn't know the cause of the split, she noted that the release of Timberlake's "Cry Me A River" made her sympathize with her sister.
she stopped receiving money from britney, then wrote a whole book about her that got leaked. she's desperate to get some coin cause it ain't looking good for her.

"I thought how heartbreaking it must have been for my sister when 'Cry Me a River' came out. Don't get me wrong, like, that's a way to launch your solo career, right? That's a way to do it, but I felt really sad," Jamie said.
She recalled that Britney wrote the song "Everytime" in response to Timberlake's release and how she felt saddened by it.
Jamie Vs. Britney
Jamie and Britney have been at each other's necks in the past few days. It began when Jamie appeared on "Good Morning America" to exonerate herself from the conservatorship and declare her love for her sister.
As The Blast reported, the interview, which was Jamie's first time speaking out since Britney's conservatorship was terminated, saw the Nickelodeon alum in tears as she explained she was only a child when her sister was put through and didn't understand what was happening.
The 30-year-old described herself as Britney's "biggest supporter," noting that she had no part in overseeing or managing her sister's funds. But, unfortunately, the "Toxic" crooner wasn't having any of her sister's statements.

In a series of rants, she called out Jamie on social media, shaming her for using her conservatorship to promote her memoir despite not being around for 15 years. In addition, Britney shamed her sister for never having "to work for anything" and accused her family of ruining her dreams.
"My family loves to pull me down and hurt me always so I am disgusted with them!!!!" Britney declared.
