The trailer for “Love is Blind” season 2 is officially here!
The first season of “Love is Blind” was a huge hit for Netflix when it first dropped in February 2020.
The series follows thirty men and women looking to find their soulmates. They spend ten days doing speed dating, meeting men and women in different “pods” where they can talk to other contestants one-on-one. The only catch? They can talk to each other, but they’re not allowed to see what they look like. The men must decide who they want to marry and propose… completely “blind,” as they say.
The new couples then spend ten days living together before they get married to decide if they really want to say “I do” during the final trip down the aisle.
The show has been so successful that season 3 is already in the works!
‘Love Is Blind’: Are There Any Success Stories?
Believe it or not, there are actually two couples that got married and are still together two years later! Those couples are fan-favorites Lauren and Cameron Hamilton and Amber and Matt Barnett.
In an interview with the New York Post, Amber says their relationship worked out of “pure dumb luck,” adding, “We both came into it with no expectations.”
Although Amber came into the marriage with student loan debt, Amber said that the show played it up for “cinematic effect” and that she paid them off a few months after the show aired. “Our issues were something that everyone comes across in life if you’re not born rich,” she added.
For Lauren and Cameron, most of the obstacles they faced focused on the challenges of being in an interracial relationship, especially when Lauren's father had doubts about Cameron. Although fans think they’re a match made in heaven, Lauren’s admitted that they still have challenges that they have to work through, just like in any relationship.
“We’re just like any other couple, we’re not perfect,” Lauren said.
“We’re different in how we deal with stress,” she added. “When he gets stressed, he likes to be together. And when I get stressed, I’m like, ‘Oh, I need space!’ So that’s something we had to come together as a couple and learn. Because we have a busy life. That was one of the biggest things in our relationship that we work on.”
‘Love Is Blind’ Season 2: Will It Live Up To The Hype?
Now that fans know what to expect from the show, they’re hoping that the newest season will have even more twists and turns when it returns on Friday, February 11.
There are ten episodes of the show in total. Five of them will be available to stream on February 17. Four of them will be available to stream a week later, on Friday, February 18. The season finale will be the last to air on Friday, February 25.
“Lauren and Cam are still my fav couple,” one fan wrote. “I really hope we get another one like them too.”
“I really enjoyed watching Love is Blind,” another commented. “This was a unique way for singles to meet and get to know each other, void of all outside distractions like family and social media. without being able to prejudge visually.”
“Just hoping for another fairytale Lauren/Cam ending,” said another.
“Lauren and Cam are still my fav couple,” another shared. “I really hope we get another one like them too.”
“Yes Love is Blind was great trash TV,” another added. “It gave us Lauren and Cameron to root for and the TV gold that is Messica.”
“I basically hate reality shows, but this one wasn't bad,” another offered.
“I saw two female hands! Is there a lesbian couple?!” another fan asked.
One of the biggest criticisms of the show’s first season is that it focused on matches between opposite-sex couples. It’s unclear if the show is going to open up to having same-sex relationships this time around, but problems with sexuality have already appeared on the show before. In the show’s first season, Carlton didn’t tell Diamond that he was bisexual after they got engaged, which led to a big fight about trust and a subsequent break-up.
The first five episodes of “Love is Blind” are available to stream on Friday, February 11, on Netflix.
