Cardi B: I Wanted To 'Commit Suicide' Following Prostitute Allegations

Rapper Cardi B is currently testifying in the trial of an ongoing defamation lawsuit, claiming she was "suicidal" after a blogger accused her of being a prostitute and using drugs.

According to multiple reports, Cardi B arrived at an AtlantaFederal Courthouse on Wednesday to testify in an ongoing civil case she filed against vlogger Tasha K. The 'Bodak Yellow' rapper claims the person went on a "malicious campaign" against her, making several false statements about her past. In several videos, the woman claimed the rapper had been a prostitute, tested positive for Herpes, and abused drugs. 

On the stand, Cardi B says she wanted to take her own life after seeing the allegations and relayed the terrible situation to the jury. "I wanted to commit suicide over the things" the vlogger was saying the rapper said.

She continued, "I felt defeated and depressed and I didn't want to sleep with my husband." It should be noted, this was around the same time that Cardi B and rapper Offset welcomed their first child together, Kulture. The rapper told the jury she felt like "I didn't deserve my kid." According to eyewitnesses, the rapper broke down in tears several times during the court hearing after repeating she was suicidal after the allegations were made public.

The litigation has been going on for over two years, and reportedly in November of 2021, the judge ordered the Center for Women's Pelvic Health at UCLA to send him "any and all medical records" relating to tests for herpes and HPV -- according to Rolling Stone. The report states that the judge determined the results were "not helpful" to Tasha K's case. The vlogger filed her own countersuit against the rapper, alleging she was being harrassed following the Youtube videos.

During the testimony, Cardi's attorney questioned her about how she felt after seeing Tasha K's posts. "I felt like only a demon could that s--t," she responded. Cardi apologized to the judge after using the swear word while answering the question.

In the hearing, Tasha's lawyer urged jurors "not to make any judgment" with the context in this case "because context is everything, especially in the media." Adding, "Everyone is familiar with humor, everyone is familiar with opinion, and everyone needs context to appreciate that."

In response, Cardi B's lawyer said, "Saying people have highly stigmatic diseases is not a joke," and that she "knows that statements like this, if false, are defamatory."

It should be noted, YouTube doesn't take any responsibility for the statements made on their site. The company's terms of service state that the platform is not responsible for "the Content submitted by any user, or for the defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any user." But, they do consider any "legal complaints" where they have been "notified by the party in question or their authorized legal representative.

At this point, the trial is ongoing and may take several more days to finish. In the end, the jury will decide who will come out on top -- and if they will be forced to pay the other side.
