Kanye West is being accused of punching a fan after the person asked for an autograph, and now the police are investigating him for criminal battery.
According to multiple reports, the incident went down at the Soho Warehouse in downtown Los Angeles –an exclusive club and hotel — around 3 am this morning. Kanye was reportedly in his car, and a fan approached him to ask for an autograph.
At this point, the ‘Donda’ rapper allegedly jumped out of the car and punched the fan so hard they fell to the ground. Following the incident, someone called Los Angeles Police Department and a police report was taken. Of course, words were exchanged, but law enforcement isn’t revealing exactly what was said prior to the alleged violent incident.
Kanye West Under Investigation For Criminal Battery
Kanye West is now under investigation for misdemeanor battery, and if charged, the crime carries a maximum jail sentence of 6 months. Unfortunately for Kanye, the person reportedly recorded the entire incident on his cell phone, and that footage has been turned over to the cops. The alleged victim reportedly refused medical treatment after authorities were called to the scene.
Interestingly, Kanye was caught on tape around the same time screaming at another group of fans in the same area. In the video, Kanye is clearly going nuts over some type of interaction with the two individuals — and you can hear him yell, “Did y’all say that or not? Did y’all say that or not?” adding “Cuz that’s what happened right f—— now.”
Investigators are currently working on the case, but haven’t spoken to Kanye about the incident. The rapper was not on the scene when cops arrived. Of course, he could have a wholly different explanation for the violent encounter and his side of the story.
Kanye West Caught On Tape Going Nuts On Second Group Of Fans
Again, it’s unclear what prompted the outburst, but Kanye appears to be seconds away from another possible physical incident with the group of fans.
Earlier in the night, Kanye was spotted partying at Delilah — a club in West Hollywood — with new fling Julia Fox. Witnesses say Kanye left the club alone, and she stayed inside. It’s possible Kanye headed to the Soho Warehouse for the after-hours scene, or he could be staying there. It’s unclear at this time.
This is not the first time Kanye has been accused of violently striking an individual during a public outing. Back in 2008, the rapper was arrested on felony vandalism charges after a scuffle with a photographer at the airport. At the time, Kanye was allegedly confronted by a paparazzi, and a struggle over the camera ensued. During the encounter, Kanye masked the camera, and threw it to the ground.
Kanye West Accused Of Similar Outburst After Allegedly Assaulting A Photographer
MegaAccording to reports, Kanye and his bodyguard approached the camera operator and demanded his camera, after he refused, the rapper grabbed it and trashed it. Paramedics rushed to the scene and treated the photographers for minor injuries.
It should be noted, following the new incident — Kanye might not have been arrested anyways due to the fact that it is only a misdemeanor. Now, authorities will finish their investigation and turn it over to the City Attorney. Prosecutors will then decide if there is enough evidence to charge the rapper with a crime.
