Samuel L. Jackson Set To Star And Executive Produce New AppleTV+ Limited Series

AppleTV+ continues to give us quality content and you can expect another great series added to the library.

Samuel L. Jackson is set to executive produce and star in the new limited series The Last Days Of Ptolemy Grey, which follows a deeply engaging mystery with a surreal twist, with Jackson starring as Ptolemy Grey, a 93-year-old man forgotten by his family, by his friends, by even himself. On the brink of sinking even deeper into lonely dementia, Ptolemy experiences a seismic shift when he’s given the tremendous opportunity to briefly regain his memories and uses this precious and fleeting lucidity to solve his nephew’s death and come to terms with his past.

Other cast members include Dominique Fishback (Judas and The Messiah), Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us), Omar Benson Miller (Ballers), and more.

Adapted and executive produced by best-selling author Walter Mosley, who wrote the moving novel the six-episode series is based on.

Apple TV+ today revealed a first look at “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey,” the highly anticipated limited series executive produced by and starring Oscar-nominated Samuel L. Jackson, and based on the acclaimed novel by best-selling author Walter Mosley, who adapts the story for the screen and serves as executive producer. The six-episode gripping series about family, memory, and legacy will debut globally Friday, March 11 on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday.

Hailing from Apple Studios, “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” stars Jackson as Ptolemy Grey, an ailing man forgotten by his family, by his friends, and by even himself. Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn, played by BAFTA Award nominee Dominique Fishback (“Judas and the Black Messiah”). When they learn about a treatment that can restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories, it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present, and future. In addition to Jackson and Fishback, the Apple Original series features Cynthia Kaye McWilliams (“Coyote,” “Real Husbands of Hollywood”), Damon Gupton (“Black Lightning,” “Bates Motel”), Marsha Stephanie Blake (“I Am Your Woman,” “When They See Us”), Walton Goggins (“Justified,” “The Unicorn”),  and Omar Miller (“The Unicorn,” “Ballers”).

Alongside Mosley and Jackson, “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” is executive produced by Mosley’s producing partner Diane Houslin, Ramin Bahrani, Eli Selden, and David Levine for Anonymous Content, and LaTanya Richardson.

Jackson is tapped for another miniseries, reprising his role as Nick Fury in the Marvel series Secret Invasion, which is slated for a 2022 release on Disney+.

The 73-year-old star is also set to appear on Broadway this year for the revival of The Piano Lesson, working with Richardson again, and will act alongside John David Washington and Orange Is The New Black alum, Danielle Brooks.
