John Stamos Says Bob Saget Would've Loved Jimmy Kimmel's Tribute

Hollywood and those closest to Bob Saget are still reeling from the comedic actor’s untimely death.

Saget, most notably known for his role as ‘Danny Tanner’ on “Full House” and “Fuller House,” died unexpectedly in his Orlando, FL. hotel room on Sunday, January 9.

He was only 65-years-old at the time of his tragic death, and the news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

Despite doing what he loved to do right before his death, which was perform stand-up comedy, his loss is great and his closest friends continue to mourn.

Earlier this week, The Blast reported on Jimmy Kimmel’s touching and emotional tribute to the late comedian.

During Monday’s opening monologue, just one day after Saget’s death, Kimmel didn’t hold back any tears.

He noted that the messages on social media about Saget being the “sweetest” man were all ‘absolutely true.’

“Bob was the sweetest. He was the sweetest man. I have so many wonderfully kind and supportive texts and emails and calls from Bob. He always had a compliment. He’d write sometimes just to tell me he loved me and I know he did that for many people… He had something funny to say about everything and nothing bad to say about anyone. Never,” Kimmel said through tears.

On the day of his death, Kimmel revealed he was going through email interactions he had with his dear friend.

“So last night, I was going through emails with Bob and some of them were just funny, but some of them were very serious emails about life and, uh, the well-being of our children and how hard it is to appreciate one of those without the other being just right,” Kimmel stated. “In one email where we were talking about our kids, I have it right here, he wrote, ‘One night soon let’s go out and have some meat and some good damn drinks, and talk about how lucky we are that we have them.’”

Kimmel proceeded to send love to his daughters, his wife, Kelly, and his friends who “loved him so much.”

He also reflected on the time he and Saget were joined by John Stamos when commemorating their good friend Don Rickles after his passing.

The show then cut to a 2017 interview with Saget, Stamos and Kimmel.

The clip opens with Saget saying to Stamos, “I never thought we’d be friends this long. My God, the first four years we worked together we weren’t like, besties. You were bringing all the hot women in the world to the show, you had a mullet, you were ‘Uncle Jesse,’ and I was a married guy, living in the Palisades.”

Kimmel added, “You’ll be like the two old guys from the ‘Muppets.’”

Stamos saw the tribute and tweeted on Tuesday, January 11, “Thank you Jimmy Kimmel – you are truly one of the most caring people on this planet. Your thoughtfulness never goes unnoticed to me and I am grateful. Bob would have loved this. XO JS.”

Saget is survived by his wife and three daughters.
