'Full House' Star Bob Saget Spoke To His Wife Just Hours Before His Death

Bob Sagetspoke to his wife, Kelly Rizzo, just hours before his death and appeared to be in a great mood coming off a successful comedy show.

According to multiple reports, the 'Full House'star called his wife "in the early morning hours of Sunday" following his 2-hour stand-up comedy show in Jacksonville, Florida. As you can imagine, the show finished later in the evening and Saget didn't return to his hotel room until around 2 am.

The 65-year-old comedian checked in with his wife after the show, and "was so excited coming off a great show and sounded really happy." As we reported, Saget had arranged for a late check-out, considered he might have wanted to get some sleep after a late night -- and he was scheduled to fly home the next day. In other words, nothing indicated to his wife that anything was wrong, in the hours leading up to his death.

Unfortunately, Rizzo didn't hear from her husband around the time he was supposed to be headed towards the airport, so she called the hotel and had security to a welfare check on the room. As we reported, Saget was found lying in his bed "cold to the touch" with one arm over his chest and on his back. The Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed they received an emergency call around 4 pm after staff found him unconscious.

According to the police report, Bob Saget appeared to have died shortly after talking to his wife, considering he was cold to the touch when hotel staff arrived. We broke the story, a manager desperately tried CPR after finding the comedian, while another staff member called 9-1-1. An autopsy has been completed, and the initial investigation is pointing towards a heart attack or stroke. Authorities claim there was nothing connected to drug use or any sign of a struggle inside the hotel room.

"Kelly is completely devastated. Bob was her best friend and the love of her life. They were so happy together and so happy that they found each other," a source told People. Adding, "They had the best marriage and they connected on such a deep level. She doesn't know how to go on without him."

They continued, "Kelly and Bob had the same sense of humor. He was so supportive of her company, Eat Travel Rock, and when she did cooking videos, he was often her producer, filming her or doing funny voiceovers."

In a heartbreaking statement, Bob's wife broke her silence on his death, saying, "My whole heart. Bob was my absolute everything. I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans, and his peers. When the time is right and when this news is not as raw, I look forward to sharing more of Bob with the world. Sharing how much he meant to me, all of those around him, and how much all of his fans and friends meant to him as well. Thank you for respecting my privacy at this time."

The death is still under investigation, and autopsy and toxicology results might take several months to complete.
