Betty White's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of younger generations as the Girl Scouts recently paid tribute to the global icon.
The entertainment industry was crushed with the passing of the Hollywood veteran just a few weeks before her 100th birthday, and millions continue to honor "The Golden Girls" star's legacy.
As shared by PEOPLE, the latest tribute to the beloved actress came from the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore (GSJS), who dedicated a patch to the late entertainer.
Betty White: Feminist, Civil Rights Activist, Animal Lover, And More
White was an undisputed dominant force in the entertainment business with a successful career that spanned over five decades. However, the 99-year-old didn't become an icon just for her vast performances on TV.
The GSJS has acknowledged "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" star's various contributions to the world by offering a nationwide program that allows Girl Scouts to earn the actress's commemorative patch.
This heartwarming tribute came as part of the organization's Amazing Woman of the Month series, which the staffer Stacy Petti created to motivate others with the world's greatest female icons.
Regarding the commemorative patch, Heather Coburn, GSJS's Interim Chief Executive Officer, told the news outlet that the true tribute to White was the positive response to their program.
The humble staffer believed that people's interest in the patch was their appreciation of the beloved actress's impact on women. Coburn said:
"She is a strong role model for girls — a feminist, civil rights supporter, animal activist, brilliant actress, and overall nice human being."
Last December, the GSJS announced "The Golden Palace" star as the next face of their monthly series, which has honored women such as Shirley Chisholm, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The January program promised to teach girls about White's legacy in a fun way by helping these aspiring patch owners create "their own game shows, advocate for animals," and learn valuable communication skills.
Guide Dogs For The Blind Honored The Emmy Winner With A Puppy Named After Her
The Blast recently reported that Guide Dogs For The Blind named a golden baby retriever after the First Lady of Television.
The organization's CEO stated that the animal activist had been an avid supporter of their cause for decades, which was why her contributions were honored with the adorable puppy.
The young dog was named Betty Rose, in honor of White's character in "The Golden Girls." Once she clocked six weeks old, the golden retriever would be given to a puppy raiser.
The iconic actress adored animals and even adopted a golden retriever during her time on earth. The "You Again" star's love for animals came from her parents, whom the entertainer once described as "animal nuts."
In addition to being passionate about animals, the 99-year-old shared similar sentiments towards her career. The Blast previously revealed that the Hollywood veteran's rise to fame began in the mid-nineties.
From working as a radio host, White became one of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry with her last performance as a voice actress on the hit animation, "Toy Story 4."
