Demetria Devonne Lovato, known professionally as Demi Lovato, has added another fierce piece to their tattoo collection of over 25 designs.
Following the American singer-songwriter's lowkey rehab stint and spending the holidays with their loved ones, they are heralding the new year boldly.
The "Give Your Heart A Break" artist showed off their new spider tattoo, which sits on top of their head, and explained the meaning behind it with a poem.

New Year, new ink! Lovato now rocks a sizeable black spider tattoo on their scalp, which inspires them about togetherness and having a unique place in the world.
On Saturday, January 9, The "Don't Forget" singer updated their Instagram Story with their journey into getting the realistic design.
Lovato went on a low cut and shaved the sides of their head not long ago, and the space was perfect for the new tattoo.
The "Camp Rock" actress stayed safe with a face mask in one post while celebrity tattoo guru Dr. Woo worked his magic.
Lovato also reposted an image from Dr. Woo's Instagram page, which showed them backing the camera and showing off the true-to-life spider tattoo that looked ready to spring off their scalp.
The star dived into the powerful message behind the new design by quoting a poem about a Grandmother Spider who taught many things. They wrote:
"She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web - each one of us having our place in this world."
The "Confident" Artist Spends Holidays with Family After Rehab Stint
According to ET, last year ended with Lovato finishing a lowkey rehab stint and returning home to their loved ones for the holidays.
The "Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil" star previously expressed in a CBS Sunday Morning interview that they were California sober, which means they are "smoking weed and drinking in moderation."
Per the outlet, US weekly revealed that the "Unidentified With Demi Lovato" star chose to attend rehab and transition into total sobriety with a sober living companion.
PEOPLE confirmed that the non-binary beauty is "committed to their well-being, and throughout their life, they plan to do regular check-ins to make sure they are putting themselves first."
The "Unbroken" Singer Pushes For Full Sobriety In 2022
Lovato remains committed to protecting their mental health and will not let the bad times stop them from putting in the work to live a healthy life.
In December, The Blast shared the "Here We Go Again" singer's motivation behind working towards staying away from all intoxicants after previously declaring themselves California sober.
Lovato's decision for complete sobriety is not linked to any severe relapse such as their 2018 overdose but may be due to a tragedy.
The "Lightweight" singer recalled the unfortunate passing of their dear friend Thomas Trussell III who lost his life to an overdose in 2019.
Their announcement to stay fully sober followed shortly after. With Lovato's brave rehab visit, their decision to have a sober companion, and their new tattoo, they have a firm grip on self-love.
