Drakeo The Ruler's family wants to give him a befitting funeral, but unfortunately, they can't afford it. However, they hope that the wealth he left behind can help make their wish come true.
The grieved family is looking to access Drakeo's assets to fund his burial.
Drakeo The Ruler's Family Needs Money For His Funeral
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Drakeo's family are looking to access his about $2 million worth of asset, which he left behind.
The rapper's mother revealed that the family couldn't afford to cover his funeral, estimated at $52,000, so they want to take the money out of his estate. However, they can't access his assets without a court order.
Drakeo's mom, who claimed she couldn't even afford a coffin for the late "Betchua" rapper, is asking the court to allow her to take part of her son's wealth in order to give him a memorial "full of dignity, style, and grace."
She is asking that the court order be granted ASAP as she needs money to quickly secure a spot with funeral homes amid the increase in COVID-19 deaths.
A Lawsuit For Justice
On December 19, Drakeo tragically lost his life during the Once Upon A Time all-day festival. The 28-year-old was backstage performing when a fight broke out, and he was stabbed fatally in the neck.
Although Drakeo was taken to the hospital, he, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries. Snoop Dogg, one of the headliners at the festival, mourned his devastating loss with a statement that read, "My condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Drakeo the Ruler. I'm not with anything negative and as one of the many performers, I was there to spread positive vibes only to my city of LA."

Following the tragic incident, many hoped that the authorities would bring the perpetrators to justice. However, nothing has happened, and no arrests have been made.
Amid law enforcement's silence, Drakeo's mom plans to file a lawsuit to hold the even organizers accountable for what was done to her son. "I need people to know. And I do want justice for my son. And I do believe that justice will be served. I will not rest until justice is served," she lamented.
A Loving Tribute From His Brother
