Nipsey Hussle continues to be mourned in hip-hop as the two-year anniversary of his death approaches. February 16 is also a significant date in his career as this was the day in 2018 that he finally released his debut studio album, “Victory Lap.”
This was a project that was a decade in the making as Hussle wanted to wait for the perfect time for this project to finally be released. It didn’t disappoint either as it contained plenty of hits.
Fans Reminisce On Success Of ‘Victory Lap’
Fans all over social media have been expressing how solid of a project “Victory Lap” was and how it exceeded expectations after waiting so long for its release.
The wait and hard work for Hussle paid off in the end though as it ended up being nominated for an award at the 2019 GRAMMYs. It was in the Best Rap Album category. The winner went to Cardi B‘s debut studio album, “Invasion Of Privacy.”
Nonetheless, the Grammy nomination itself proved how great Victory Lap was overall.

Victory Lap was my first real introduction to Nipsey’s music and I was in a space at the time where I was doing the most and wasn’t yielding and thats the worse feeling when you tryna get it on your own. Kept me motivated, helped me feel those wins I knew was coming. https://t.co/X5v6ry2bfc

‘Victory Lap’ Featured Plenty Of Hits By Nipsey
“Victory Lap” was led by hit singles such as “Rap N*ggas” and “Last Time I Checc’d” featuring YG. Other fan favorites included “Victory Lap” feat. Stacy Barthe and “Dedication” featuring Kendrick Lamar.
Victory Lap went on to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and currently stands at platinum status by the RIAA in the US. Victory Lap is widely regarded as Hussle’s best overall project to date.
Nipsey Fans Hope For Posthumous Album
As fans continue to celebrate the success and legacy of “Victory Lap,” they also wonder if they will be getting a posthumous album from Hussle’s estate as well. J Stone, one of Hussle‘s All Money In No Money Out artists, revealed to The Bootleg Kev Podcast back in December that this will end up happening.
“It’s so much music this n*gga done did, bro. Like you wouldn’t even imagine, bro. There’s sh*t I haven’t even heard when I thought I heard everything. It’s definitely going to be another Nip album.”
Lauren London Recently Shut Down Pregnancy Rumors
Last week, Lauren London, Hussle‘s ex-girlfriend and mother of their son, shut down any speculation of her being pregnant. This is after the Los Angeles Sentinel originally reported that this was the case.
“Woke up to some straight bullshit. Rumors!” said London on Twitter. “Lies! On a woman trying her best to heal?! Please stop. I’m NOT pregnant.”
Many supporters rightfully believe that London should still be able to grieve in peace and not worry about rumors like this being spread by social media. She is rightfully allowed to find love whenever she pleases now as well.
Don’t disturb the peace of the people that need it the most . 🙏🏽 Ase’
