The 2005 movie, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” starring celebrity couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt was one of the best at the time, and a recent announcement disclosed that the film is set for a remake starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover as the assassin couple.
As per Glover, the film is a collaborative effort between “New Regency,” “Amazon Studio,” and creative writer Francesca Sloane.
The set release date is in year 2022 on “Amazon Prime Video.” Actress Waller-Bridge excitedly announced the movie project in a “pandemic garb.”

For the announcement, the actress made a video of herself standing in a doorway wearing pajamas. She struck Jolie’s same leg lift pose in the original film’s poster and promotional material.
Glover made a similar announcement while doing the “flossing” dance and captioned it, “Mr + Mrs. Smith. Donald Glover x Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Co-created with Francesca Sloane. New Regency + Amazon Studios,” Glover wrote. “Amazon Prime Video 2022.”
Head of “Amazon Studios,” Jennifer Salke also reposted the videos. The upcoming movie will make it the second film where Glover, best known as Childish Gambino, and Waller-Bridge will star in a movie together.

The duo previously appeared together in “Solo: A Star Wars Story” (2008). In the movie, Glover starred as a young Lando Calrissian, and Waller-Bridge played the role of a artist of L3-37.
The original “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” starring Jolie and Pitt, depicted the real-life couple as secret assassins from different agencies competing to get one another.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith was a box office success and grossed nearly $500 million worldwide. However, Pitt and Jolie’s real-life marriage ended, as they officially filed for divorce in 2016.
