Britney Spears Takes a Hike with BF Sam Amid Doc Drama

By Gary Trock

While Britney Spears' freedom is top of mind for many who have seen the recent documentary detailing the strict conservatorship she lives under, the Princess of Pop was able to enjoy her weekend a bit by venturing outdoors for a Valentine's Day hike. Spears was seen with boyfriend Sam Asghari over the holiday weekend in a photo that was posted to his Instagram account.

"After chocolate 🍫 I’m her favorite 😂 happy chocolate Day lioness," Asghari wrote while posing with Britney in front of the beautiful sunlit mountains in Southern California.

While other parts of the country are experiencing an extra-icy winter, Southern California has remained warm and allowed for fun outdoor activities, like hiking, in the middle of February.

In the outdoor photo, Britney Spears smiles wide and appears to be having a good time, although mounting concern over the conservatorship and control over the pop star's life has been front and center with the debut of the documentary, "Framing Britney Spears."

Produced by The New York Times, the documentary takes an in-depth look at the players involved in the business of Britney Spears and asks whether they are doing her more harm than good.

Supporters and protesters for the #FreeBritney movement

For her part, Britney Spears has not addressed the documentary head-on but has recently alluded to the drama surrounding those questioning her life.

"I’ll always love being on stage .... but I am taking the time to learn and be a normal person ..... I love simply enjoying the basics of every day life !!!! Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories !!!! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives," Britney wrote in a recent Instagram post.

Addressing the Controversy

Perhaps throwing a nod of support to "Framing Britney Spears," which highlights how Britney's family, colleagues and the media seemingly ignored her cries for help and instead exploited her downward spiral for entertainment value, Spears wrote:

"Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person's life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens."

It is unclear if Britney has actually seen the documentary detailing the constraints on her life, but it seems that she understands her personal situation is still in the spotlight.
