Tory Lanez has been releasing plenty of music since September despite being canceled by many in the music industry since then. This is due to Megan Thee Stallion claiming that he was the one who shot her in Hollywood Hills last summer.
The Toronto rapper has since debunked this accusation and maintained his innocence on plenty of occasions. One of his latest releases in regards to his music is his “Big Tipper” music video, which he put out this past weekend. This features two other stars in Lil Wayne and Melii.
‘Big Tipper’ Appeared On Tory’s ‘Loner’ Album
“Big Tipper” was one of the hottest records off of Lanez‘s “Loner” album. This project was released in December and served as the “rap capsule” for rap album he planned to put out. Tory wants to release albums of different genres this year and the rap version was the first release. Loner contained 10 tracks in total with other appearances from Tyga, Swae Lee, 42 Dugg, and VV$ Ken. This album was approved by fans of Lanez and are ready for even more material from him in 2021.
Melii Speaks On Working With Tory And Wayne
Melii has known Lanez for a while and even signed to his One Umbrella record label in 2018. She was very excited to work with both him and Wayne on this record. She expressed their impressive lyricism in their music overall and knew she had to deliver a hot verse with them as well on Big Tipper.
“It’s surreal to be on a song with Lil Wayne,” said Melii in a press release sent to The Blast. I went hard on my verse because I had two incredible lyricists on a track I needed to match.”
Tory Says Lil Wayne Went To Shoot ‘Big Tipper’ Video A Day After Getting Pardoned
Prior to the “Big Tipper” music video being released, Lanez posted plenty of behind the scenes content on social media. He also posted a clip of Wayne on set and thanked him for coming through. He also revealed that Wayne came to film the video with him and Melii a day after getting pardoned by Donald Trump last month. Wayne was scheduled to be sentenced in March for a 2019 federal firearm charge. At the time, Wayne was facing 10 years in prison so this was definitely a huge bullet that was avoided.
Tory Has Been Planning Release Date For Upcoming R&B Album
The next project that Lanez is looking forward to is his R&B capsule. He recently took to Twitter to ponder on what the title of this project may be and he decided on “Playboy.” Lanez also thought about the idea of a Valentine’s Day release date but ended up saying that the title of the album doesn’t fit the holiday.
“I would be disrespecting the #PlayboyCapsule if I dropped it on VALENTINES DAY …. It’s really for the heart broken and open . not the infatuated and exaggerated.”
