Aaron Rodgers just let the cat out of the bag!
The Green Bay Packers quarterback slipped the fact that he is engaged into his acceptance speech for the MVP during the NFL Honors broadcast on February 6. The star humbling accepted the most valuable player award for the “crazy” 2020 season and casually mentioned that he popped the question to someone. The big announcement comes just days after it was reported that Rodgers was dating the star of HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” Shailene Woodley.

Rodgers began his MVP acceptance speech by saying what an honor it is to win for the third time. “2020 was definitely a crazy year,” Aaron said, “filled with lots of change.” The NFL star then cracked a joke about all the nasal swab tests he had to take as he listed all the out of ordinary events that went down this past year. “180 straight days of getting my nose hair scraped,” he said with a smile before he shocked the world with a nonchalant announcement.
“I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career,” Rodgers casually remarked.
He went on to thank a long list of people… including his unnamed fiance.

Rodgers and Woodley’s relationship made headlines just a few days ago when a source told E! News the two were keeping it “private and low key.” Well, an engagement announcement isn’t very low key!
The reports said that the couple spent a lot of time apart during the season so he could focus on football and she could focus on filming “Misanthrope” in Montreal.
“They have seen each other and been in touch,” E!’s source said at the time. “They continue to talk and see each other when they can. They are both focused on their careers but they also make time for each other.”
The first rumors about the romantic pairing of the Hollywood actress and the NFL MVP started in October when sports blog, Awesemo.com noted that Woodley was seen in Green Bay.
Aaron has done several interviews where he’s talked about how happy he currently is and it’s almost like a new lease on life. “I’ve made decisions and changes and habits that put me in a lot better headspace and there’s just a lot of things that have come together in my life over the last few months that have really been enjoyable,” he said on the “Pat McAfee Show” in September. “That’s why I’m having so much fun and it starts with love. And then surrounding yourself with people that you really enjoy.”
