Ed Sheeran recently shared a video of himself playing his guitar to his latest single titled “Afterglow,” and urged his followers to make a duet video with him. Unfortunately, TikTok users took his request wrongly and slammed him continuously on the app.
Usually, celebrities walk on eggshells on social media because they have no idea what they would say or do that would unleash hate comments from fans.
Did Sheeran made a bad request or are fans just trippin? Let’s find out.
Ed Sheeran’s Life
Sheeran is currently married to his high school sweetheart Cherry Seaborn.
After being apart for years, they finally reunited in 2015, and started dating immediately. Sheeran also sang a song about her, titled “Perfect” from the divide album, and possibly other songs like “Barcelona,” “Shape of You,” and “Hearts Don’t Break Around Here.”
They got engaged in December 2017, and married in January 2019. They are both living in London now, with their daughter Lyra Antarctica.
The news of their baby girl put fans in a joyous mood and they expressed this delight in his comment section on Instagram.
How’s Sheeran’s Career So Far?
Sheeran started singing back in 2004, when he only recorded music in his home. However, it was not until he released his EP “No 5 Collaborations Project,” that he gained the attention he needed to excel.
Famous people like singer, Elton John, and actor, Jamie Foxx, lent Sheeran a helping hand when he needed it. The singer once revealed that he crashed on Foxx’s couch when he had nowhere to go.
He is a huge fan of singers like Damien Rice, Eminem, The Beatles and Van Morrison.
Sheeran has about 326 Nominations and 116 wins. He was also titled “Artist of the Decade,” from 2010 to 2019. He has a huge fan base across the world, with a net worth of $200 million.
The Hate Comments
“Negativity isn’t the way to go. Smile more, eat some chocolate.” – Ed Sheeran
With the release of his single “Afterglow,” he posted a video of himself singing the song, and requested that his followers duet him.
A fan said;
“Yo you should try releasing music professionally,” while another commented “Ron Weasley got bars.”
There were also duets where instead of singing with Sheeran, music would be played to overshadow his voice.
Singer Charlie Puth also took part in this mockery, and shared a video of him duetting Sheeran, and playing music so Sheeran’s singing wouldn’t be heard. The video has been taken down.
Nevertheless, there were pleasant comments from his fans “Sheerios.”
His Next Album
Sheeran was on his ‘divide’ tour since 2017, which ended in 2019. That same year he released his fourth studio album titled “No 6 Collaborations Project.”
After this, he announced his hiatus from music and reassured his fans that he would be back with new music.
According to fans, his next album would be named “Subtract,” or “Minus,” as his previous albums which were named after mathematical symbols, “Plus,” “Multiply” and “Divide.”
This new album would probably be released this year 2021, probably on Valentines day? or in fall this year. #can’t wait!!!
