The Omicron and Delta variant may have different symptoms, according to a new study.

Dr. Angelique Coetzee noticed that South African patients with Omicron don’t report the same symptoms.

Omicron patients tend not to have a shortness of breath or a loss of smell or taste.

Instead, symptoms are reported to be a lot milder and more cold-like.

A new South African study reported the symptoms of 78,000 Omicron patients.

Most symptoms included a runny nose, a sore throat, fatigue, a headache, and a minor cough.

Some patients also reported muscles aches, the most common being back pain.

Dr. Waleed Javaid said that Omicron seems to be spreading faster because of a shorter incubation period.

Symptoms are appearing in only 3 days, comparing to Delta’s 4-6 days.
