Mary Cosby was admittedly disappointed by the way her “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” cast mates reacted to her “unconventional marriage” to husband Robert Cosby Sr.
“I was very disappointed in the treatment of it and the treatment of me as far as… taking sides,” Cosby explained during an interview with Us Weekly magazine last week.
As fans learned early on during season one, Robert was previously married to Cosby’s late grandmother, which some found to be quite a talking point.
Mary Cosby Felt Her ‘RHOSLC’ Cast Mates Treated Her Unfairly
According to Cosby, she believes she was treated unfairly by her co-stars in regard to the way they spoke about her relationship, and also believes that the way they reacted to the nature of her marriage was immature.
“It was definitely unfair on my end of the stick but it is what it is. I signed up for it. But am I disappointed? Yeah. [They were] not very mature,” she alleged.
That said, Cosby knew what she was signing up for when she deciding to be open about her marriage to Robert.

“I said my truth. I was ready to air it and I felt like it was time and I felt like it was the right thing to do. I really just didn’t care. I went into it with a nonchalant… ‘Either accept it, or keep it moving,’” Cosby recalled.
That said, she was taken aback when she noticed that producers had put such a heavy spotlight on her relationship.

“They put that story right there with me so for me, that attacked me. It didn’t set it in a good light for me,” Cosby explained of her marriage being a focal point not only of the trailer, but also of the first season of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.”
Cosby then addressed how she feels about the criticism she’s received on social media.
“I find it to be, it’s what you make it and how you accept it into your equation of your personal life. I decided not to. I try to separate myself to it,” she said.

“Sometimes I read it and sometimes I respond back to them and then block them and sometimes I read it and it’s like, ‘Okay, that’s your opinion.’ I try to separate it and I try not to put emotion into it,” she explained. “I know they’re out there. But in my mind, I’m not here to make sense. I’m here to tell you, ’This is what Mary is about and this is my story.’ You don’t have to accept it… or you can.”
